Advantages: Great workout, fabulous for abs Disadvantages: Need some knowledge of Pilates and the warm up is poor
I have started to do Pilates in January 2005 and since then, I have never stopped. I have been going to classes every Monday and Thursday and never missed one. Unfortunately, as the classes are in my daughter's school, it doesn't run during holidays. So I decided to look for PilatesDVD. I first bought a Video but the quality was so bad I bought a DVD from a different collection.
So how does it look like?
The DVD comes in a purple case clearly writing MTVPILATES on the front...you can't miss it! It also has a picture of the Pilates instructor, Kristin McGee on the front.
It's a pretty basic cover but is clearly showing was it is for!
What does the cover says?.
Work it inside and out with MTVPilates. Learn the moves that strengthen your body and power up your mind. Hosted by renowned Yoga and Pilates instructor Kristin ...

I think I paid about £10 on the internet.

Advantages: Good Instructions and clear photographs Disadvantages: You may prefer to attend a class
Pilates has become increasingly popular over the last decade, not the least due to celebs setting the pace, but also because it is an excellent way of getting into shape. It was developed as a means of keeping troops fit and healthy in a prisoner of war camp in WW1.
Today there are many courses and books available, although it is probably better to take a taster class or sign up for a course if you are a beginner, so that you can get the benefit of professional tuition. However, a book like this one can be a useful supplement and once you have mastered the basics, provides a good means of exercising at home. It is important then that any book should provide reliable information and clear illustrations to help you make any progress.
