DVD Description
This release presents the entire series of LOVE FOR LYDIA. Based on a novel by H.E. Bates it compellingly recreates the heady abandon of the 1920s Jazz Age through the story of a young girl's transformation from shy teen to wild flapper. Heiress Lydia Aspen (Mel Martin) dances the Charleston as easily as she flits from one lover to the next, among them a struggling young writer (Christopher Blake) who earnestly loves her. The cast also includes Jeremy Irons in one of his earliest major roles, several years before his breakthrough in BRIDESHEAD REVISITED.

James is everything that Jerry isn’t, sweet, funny and attentive; but it soon becomes apparent to the viewer that he is married (or is he?) and would appear that Helen is only making the same mistake twice. Meanwhile, Jerry realises he doesn't realy loveLydia after all and wants Helen back.
In the alternate reality things go on pretty much as before, Helen working all the hours God sends and Jerry sneaking around with Lydia, who later becomes pregnant. Nothing much happens, but it explores further the relationships between Helen and Jerry and Jerry and Lydia. From what I can make out Jerry does love Helen but is unable to let Lydia go.
The way...

...The first series of the ever popular ER created by Michael Crichton introduces us to the original six characters. These are Dr Mark Greene (Anthony Edwards), Dr Doug Ross (George Clooney), Dr Susan Lewis (Sherry Stringfield), Medical Student John Carter (Noah Wyle), Nurse Carol Hathaway (Julianna Margulies) and Dr Peter Benton (Eriq La Salle). In this series we see what it's like to work in an ER emergency room based at Chicago's County General Teaching Hospital and what the members of staff go through. We see the gruelling hours they work and horrific scene's they see day in and day out. This is a hard hitting drama series with some light and funny moments.
I loved this series when it first came out; I've just bought this on DVD and loved rewatching all the old episodes, they all look so young, of course there is only one original...

Advantages: Unusual comedy with fantastic visual effects Disadvantages: Won't appeal to people who dislike originality and surreal humour
...will do almost anything to please his demanding wife in order to lead a quiet life; to complete the clan is morose teenage daughter Lydia Deetz (Winona Ryder, who is perfectly cast for the role) who loves anything dark, depressing and moody. Accompanying them is Delia's SoHo designer sidekick Otho (played by Glenn Shadix) who is a pompous and slightly effeminite man who helps Delia to plan the radical changes to the house.
Horrified at the sudden changes and imposing family, Adam and Barbara feel hopelessly infuriated, and the planned redesign of their beloved period property makes them act out of desperation as they hilariously attempt to scare the new residents out of the house. However, they realise they can not be seen...except by Lydia. They attempt to frighten her away, but because of their kind nature they can not live...
