Advantages: Excellent performances and direction Disadvantages: Not in English language
essentially this is a film for those interested in human relationships.
The music is gentle and soothing, mainly based around the guitar. As the credits roll the tune turns into a song; the lyrics were fine, but I'm afraid I was not impressed by singer.
The DVD has an interview with Philippe Claudel and Laurence Haloche, as well as deleted scenes with an optional audio commentary.
The film has a 12 certificate, but it is certainly not one that is suitable for children in any case.
'I've loved you so long' has won nine awards, including the BAFTA for best film not in the English language. It is an extremely moving film, and I found my eyes welling with tears on two or three occasions, although one of these was during an extremely happy episode. Although depressing in many ways, the film does contain scenes that are uplifting and help to create ...
Advantages: Diverse, not NYC, interesting places, reasonably easy to get to Disadvantages: The accent. There are areas of limited interest and economic hardship
, of course, a uniquely American slant.
Moving further out to Suffolk County, there are Native American reservations (the Shinnecocks), and wineries on the North Fork. On the South Fork are the famous Hamptons. Oddly, despite a lifetime on LongIsland (well...18 years, anyway), I've never been to the Hamptons, though my brother has, and my daughter has the T-shirt. They're supposed to be lovely though. If you really want to be bored, you could take the LongIsland Railroad (more on that later) to Amityville just on the Suffolk side of the border on the south shore and visit the infamous house featured in the Amityville Horror. Sadly, though, I am given to understand that the 'eye' windows have been replaced with standard ones.
Back to Nassau, and less extravagant destinations, the South Shore still has a fishing industry. Freeport ...
Advantages: Good story line Disadvantages: Rubbish special effects, lacks blood and gore and the scare factor
Released in 2006, ?Death Row? was another horror film produced and directed by horror expert Kevin VanHook. Other horror films Kevin VanHook has produced and directed are those such as ?The Fallen Ones? (2005) and ?Voodoo Man? (2005). You may or may not have heard of these. He has also worked on films such as ?Miss Congeniality?, ?Daredevil? and ?I Robot?.
?An abandoned prison.
A dark past.
And an evil?
That will not die.?
This brief description on the front cover of the DVD gives you an insight to what the film is about. Drawing the attention of possible viewers. It certainly grabbed my attention and I was intrigued to find out more ...

Ciao members have rated this review on average: very helpful Review of Death Row (DVD)
British novelist Giles De'Ath (John Hurt), a stuffy man who is completely oblivious to modern life and technologies, gets locked out of his house and settles for a visit to the cinema. Instead of the E.M. Forster adaptation he intended to view, he is shocked to discover that he accidentally purchased a ticket to Hotpants College 2. But before he can flee the theatre, he becomes mesmerized by the appearance of teen idol Ronny Bostock (Jason Priestley). Unable to shake or quench his thirst for the actor, he eventually travels to Long Island with the intentions of meeting him face to face. What begins as an awkward, distant relationship slowly becomes a mutual friendship that eventually concludes when the truth comes out. A funny and touching film based on the novel by Gilbert Adair.
