A short synopsis:
It's actually (Love, actually!) quite hard to give a very accurate synopsis of this film because basically there is lots going on at the same time that actually amounts to nothing at all.

soundtrack knows its target demographic and seizes it by the throat. Dido, Norah Jones and Gabrielle in addition to a latter-day makeover of the all-woman anthem "Jump" performed here by Girls Aloud, make this a shrewdly chosen body of great music. In addition to this, who can forget Billy Mack's hark back to the success of Four Weddings and a Funeral with his seasonal rendition of the Trogg's (and Wet Wet Wet's) "Christmas is all Around". Love Actually is great fun and will undoubtably be a hit at office parties across the land; the only drawback is the conspicuous absence of Robbie Williams. --Georgina Collins
Advantages: Good Actors Disadvantages: Lack Of Plot

My opinion:
Love, Actually is full of stars, there's Keira Knightley, Hugh Grant, Martine McCutcheon, Emma Thompson, Colin Firth, Liam Neeson, Andrew Lincoln (previously in This Life) Laura Linney, Alan Rickman, Rowan Atkinson and I could go on and on and on. The only problem with this is none of them shine out, they're all in there cause they're names, not because they're giving a good performance, there is a surplus of talent here but none ... ...seem to be tripping over each other and giving cameo performances in what are feature roles really. I enjoyed, well not enjoyed exactly but thought that the best performance in the film came from Liam Neeson as the grieving husband and stepdad, he was bearably acceptable, but the role wasn't fleshy enough for us to see his exceptional talent, it was a bit like an iceberg, you can see a little on the top but you know there's much more deeper underneath.

Advantages: warm-hearted, cute, funny, great soundtrack Disadvantages: A bit sappy, some scenes make it inappropriate for children
Love, Actually is one of my favorite movies. It's sappy without being too over the top, it's funny, warm-hearted, and is the perfect fix when you're looking for a chick-flick that won't make you completely dissolve, but will still give you that satisfying warm glow. And as an added bonus, it has a stellar cast who turn in some lovely performances. It's basic premise is that love is actually all around (it's working title in the UK), and it follows ... ...Perhaps the biggest success of Love, Actually stems from the fact that despite so many subplots and characters, the movie never feels overwhelming, confusing, or impersonal. The viewer gets quick but insightful vingettes into each character's life, and to me, the ability of this cast to pull off characters that connect with the audience despite such relatively short screen time is impressive. The movie is a nice mix of lighthearted and serious - ...

...that are trying to find love, or not even looking for it but it happens. Its based around the Christmas festivities and people getting ready for the celebrations. Focused at a range of different people from people living in the east end of London, to high calibre business men, it shows how love can blossom when you least expect it. Sometimes its right, sometimes its wrong.
The Stories
David and Natalie
David (Hugh Grant) is Britain's Prime Minister, ... ...and thinks he is in love, however the girl does not like him back. Its a really nice storyline which brings stepson and stepfather closer as they engage to win the heart of the girl at school.
Harry (ALan Rickman) is a happily married man to Karen (Emma Thompson). The pair have children and are committed to each other. Harry is a business man who has a very tormentive secretary that has set her sights on him and basically wants to eat him alive. ...

Advantages: Great cast, lovely stories, great music, Christmas!! Disadvantages: None
Love Actually has now become one of my favourite British Movies of all time and in my opinion can be classed as a British Classic alongside such favourites as Notting Hill and Four Weddings and a Funeral. It was released in 2003 and directed by Richard Curtis. The great part about the film in my opinion is the way in which the stories and the characters all weave and are linked in very creative ways to show how the personal lives of others can affect ... ...time of year, Christmas! It follows the great British Christmas traditions of deciding who is going to have the Christmas number one, the school nativity play and each others relationships as Christmas approaches. This is a must see film for me every holiday season now. The film has a great cast of British actors.
High Grant plays a very convincing Prime Minister who falls in love with a very common Martine McCutcheon (from Eastenders and now Echo ...

This is a great Christmas film and with so many different perspectives on peoples lives that this film takes you through you will never get bored. It is incredible that, with so many different characters and storylines running through, the plot comes together and makes for a film that is enjoyable throughout
This film starts off with rock star played Bill Nighy who is recording a new song for Christmas for an end-of-career comeback, but will it ... ...the new Prime Minister Hugh Grant instantly falling in love with a member of the staff played by Martine McCutcheon will they ever get together? See them go through a few challenges, the funniest part has to be when the newly appointed prime minister is met by Martine and she swears at him more than once.
Then to a writer played by Colin Firth who goes to the south of France to mend his broken heart, when he finds love in a lady that he employs ...
