Advantages: Nic Cage... great story... funny Disadvantages: I can't think of a single one!
...I wanted to go see this at the cinema but me husband wouldn't come with, so everytime we went to the DVD store I rented it until he eventually bought me it! I love this film.
It would be suitable for adults and children alike, as it is humourous, exciting and has a great storyline.
Starring Nicholas Cage as Ben Gates, a Treasure Hunter on the trial of an ancientworldtreasure. He is helped along the way by a sexy historian, and nerdy geek and evil greedy Ian in the shape of Sean Bean. Ben discovers a ship buried in the Artic and thie clue on board leads him on the most exciting and dangerous treasure hunt of his life, with a little help from the Declaration of Independance... Can he get to the Treasure before Iam or the FBI???

Advantages: Mindless fun Disadvantages: Poor story, indifferent acting, poor characters
.... The story has been written by Jim Kouf, Oren Aviv and Charlie Segars and is brought to life by the direction of Jon Turtletaub (Instinct, Cool Runnings) and the production of Jerry Bruckheimer (King Arthur, Bad Boys II).
** Storyline **
Ben Gates was captivated at an early age by his Grandfathers tale of a mystical treasure hidden forever by the founding fathers of the country. The tale went that the treasure had been built up over many hundreds of years and moved around the world by its different owners until one day it was found and brought to America. Advantages: Special effects, lots of interesting extras, sharp picture, looks fantastic, great story, and of course Brendan Fraser Disadvantages: None! And that is the first time I have said that about anything.
...I had already seen this film on Sky movies and had absolutely loved it, and as I am a huge Brendan Fraser fan, there was no ther choice for my first DVD.
The film tells the story of Rick O'Connell, Evie and Jonothan and a group of Americans, who go to Hamonaptra, the city of the dead, to search for long losttreasure, but instead they unearth a 3000 year old corpse, a creature of great power if he is resurrected, Impotep. The trio then set out to destroy the creature they have unleashed on the world before he can regenerate and become immortal, with the help of the Magi, who have sworn to protect the world from the creature for 3000 years.
