In the first series Oceania flight 815 from Sidney goes off course and crashes on a desert Island, no-one is aware of there location. The Survivors are all alone....Lost. In Series 1 there are mysterious beast in the jungle, and shelters to be built. The characters get to know each other and to become familiar with there surroundings. The survivors found a hatch, as well as failed to escape of the Island.
The second series expands on the plot of series 1. Series 1 was an introduction to the island and all the main characters, as well as a few others featured here and there. Series 2 begins with Lost: Revelation which flashes back over the first 48 days on the island and events in series one.
The twists and excitement doesn't stop after series 1. The introduction to the tail section of the plane leaves more hostility and distrust among the survivors....lovers are reunited and there is an intruder among the camp!! Could there be another baby born on the island? And who is the prisoner in the hatch?!?
Series 2 leaves plenty to the imagination with new characters, more detail on life before the island and new questions asked. To find the answers you will need to watch this series. The directors throw massive amounts of information at you in this series which will leave you wanting to know more.

The actor's performance doesn't fault in this series, carrying on from the first series they become more defined as characters. I am personally impressed by the performance of Kate, sawyer, jack and Locke. They admittedly lead this series but you can't deny you feel like lost is a real place and that all these things are happening, that is down to the actors ability. Roles of the cast are highly diverse including action, sadness, and strong emotions. They play all exceptionally.
Special effects have never been an area that has thrilled me, if something doesn't have them we know about it, and we complain. However I see nothing that disappoints me in this series. Special effects of the plane crash were great....and the quality of the effects doesn't decrease in this series. Therefore I think I can describe it best by saying they are what they were.
Music wise the soundtrack is the same as the first series of Lost. The music is well chosen and builds suspense for the watcher. It also enhances the more emotional scenes, and I would say complements the footage that we watch.
Overall this is a great series, the TV show still has me hooked on the 3rd series. There is a lot of information in the episodes and can take sometime to return to certain characters stories....leaving you in suspense. If you can stand the wait......get Lost, you won't regret it

Review of Lost - Series 2 - Complete (Box Set) (DVD)
Advantages: good cast/plot, new mysteries solved, some answered, decent DVD extras Disadvantages: need to pay attention to events, season before it gets a bit too much
Lost is the story of the survivors of Oceanic Flight 815 who crashed on a mysterious and unknown island, fighting for survival against the islands monsters, inhabitants and its other secrets while trying to be rescued.
Like the last season, the show doesn't just focus on one main character, but around 15 characters as they try to get off the island and find out about its mysteries. Characters include: Jack (Matthew Fox), - an experienced surgeon ... ...a conman who will rarely cooperate with the rest of the group, Kate (Evangeline Lilly) - a fugitive after murdering her step-father, Charlie (Dominic Monaghan) - a guitarist for the Mancunian band "Drive Shaft" (a lot of similarities to Oasis) and many more.
Continuing on from the debut season, we finally get answers to some of the important questions, for example what is down the mysterious hatch Locke found? What do "the numbers" have to do with ...

The Second Season of Lost is amazing!
We basically start off where Season One left us, where John Locke, Kate Austen, Jack Shepard and Hugo Reyes (Hurley) finally managed to open the dreaded ''Hatch''.
The suspense is unreal as we travel down the hatch with Locke, and then Jack, and then finally Kate.
The epiosodes in between keep us thoroughly entertained, and we even get an episode where we see what happened to the Tail Section of the plane. ... ...to anyone who has saw Lost Series One, or has just got into the series, it would seem strange if you were watching it and you didn't know waht was going on!
These DVD's are a must have because if you miss an episode, you are going to be really gutted, there are so many clues within the episodes and the directors, JJ Abrams, Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse are always warning us about each episode, their commentary in the extra features is fabulous ...

Advantages: view the entire season at your own pace Disadvantages: will leave you wanting to own season 3
The second season of Lost begins straigh where season 1 finished. It does give you a quick recap just to get you back up to speed. This season deals heavily with the abduction of Walt and the attempt to get him back. The season also reveals a lot more about the characters back story as well as expanding the number of leading characters.
The DVD set itself is neatly packaged with 6 individual slimline jewel cases. The commentaries found on the episodes ... ...The set also matches up well visually with the first season whcih I feel is always important when creating a collecting. The quality of the transfer is excellent as the series was filmed in HD,
This box set is a lot better value than buying the half season box sets and you get more extras. Also buying the season as a whole means you have less boxs to find space for and also you can watch the entire season straight through. ...

Advantages: No Ads, No Cliff-Hangers, The ability to pause, Bonus Features Disadvantages: LOST can be extremely confusing if you're not in the mood
...need to convince you that LOST is a truly incredible, dramatic, and ultimately addictive programme.
The Season Two boxset is perfect for all lost junkies. The bonus material, unseen footage, and added extras all add to the LOST experience. But their are three reasons why the enjoyment of LOST is so greatly enhanced when enjoyed as a DVD box-set:
> '''No Adverts''' - The most annoying thing about watching LOST on the TV was the flow of the programme ... ...end anyway. The writers of LOST are extremely good at ending each and every episode on a tantilising cliff-hanger which will make you want build a time machine in order to skip to next week's episode.
> '''The Pause Button''' - Throughout LOST, there are multiple scenes where subliminal images and rapid-flash scenes are used. When I was watching an episode on TV I always wanted to rewind and pause at certain stages to see what was actually on the ...

't been all that missed. I think Lost can appeal to many, and although some DVD certificates for Lost are only 12 I don't think 12 year olds would really get the best out of Lost. My older brother in his 20's and my mum in her 40's love it though, so there must be a wide spread appeal. I would not recommend this particular boxset, because I think you'd be better off buying the whole set when it's all said and done in some collectors format. For me watching an hour every week isn't just to see what happens next, it's because I know that when it finally does end it will blow my mind. ...

DVD Description
Created by successful television producer J.J. Abrams (FELICITY, ALIAS), LOST became one of the most popular and critically acclaimed programs of the 2004-2005 season. Utilising a ripe premise and well-drawn and acted characters, LOST attracted a huge following and was proclaimed the saving grace of a television year otherwise marred by derivative reality programming. The story concerns the survivors of a terrible plane crash, who find themselves stranded on a tropical island with seemingly little chance of a rescue. Medical doctor Jack takes a position of leadership, helping to rally the survivors and prepare them for a period of difficulty as they learn how to survive on the paradisiacal island. But everything is not as it seems, as the island offers potential danger in the form of a large, mysterious creature, and evidence is found that the plane crash may not have been an accident. As they struggle to survive, each of the characters forms alliances and makes enemies, all while dealing with the unresolved issues of the lives they've left behind. LOST distils the difficulties of society down to their essence, exploring these problems with compelling characters and with a setting that's equal parts paradise and mystery.
