Summary of the film (part of it used from the back of the DVD): From the director of the virgin suicides, Sofia Coppola, and shot entirely on location in Japan, lost in translation is a laugh-out-loud portrayal of loneliness and human connection. Featuring superior performances from bill Murray and Scarlett Johansson as bob and charlotte, two Americans in Tokyo. Bob is a movie star in town to shoot a whiskey commercial, while charlotte is a young wife tagging along with her workaholic photographer husband. Though this respective insomnias, the two cross paths one night in the luxury hotel bar and strike up a surprisingly intimate friendship. As the unlikely pair venture through Tokyo together, having often hilarious encounters with its citizens, they ultimately discover a new belief in life's possibilities.
My point of view: What you read above was the little summary written on the back of the DVD. Also on the top of the summary there is a comment with big capital letters saying 'Magical, funny, truly soulful, classically timeless.....an absolute must-see’. When I saw the outside of the DVD when I was doing my shopping, I thought myself that possibly it’s a really interesting movie and I must see it with my partner during the weekend. My personal idea for this film is that it’s very boring, its really slow the whole action of the film and on the end of the day I don’t even think that Bob and Charlotte even if match together to fall in love. We started watching the movie with my partner in the evening after dinner and the main thing that happened is that we were both waiting to see action and the action wasn’t moving that quickly at all and the film wasn’t interesting at all that my partner fell asleep and I got bored to death. It seems more than a documentary for how Tokyo looks and its lifestyle than a romantic comedy concentrating to the romance of two people. Personally I think it got these awards as a movie because possibly it’s different than the others and mainly a documentary. I felt that I really lost my evening trying to watch that movie and I could have seen easily something else. It makes you lose the interest straight away. But I have to say don’t take my point of view as absolute because on the end of the day it’s me and somebody else maybe loved this film. Personally I find it really particular as a film and I think that you need to see it during a timing you aren’t tired.

Advantages: Beautifully shot, brilliant performances from both Bill Murray and Scarlett Johansson, great direction and script from Sofia Coppola. Disadvantages: None for me personally, but people who don’t like these types of films might find it slow and boring, some people have also complained there’s no story but I personally don’t think that’s a big deal.
Advantages: It fills in a couple of hours Disadvantages: It will be a couple of hours of complete boredom.

Review of Lost In Translation (DVD)
Advantages: Amazing fight scenes and stunts, no wires so everything you see is for real. Disadvantages: The plots aren't amazing but still watchable, not for people who don't like foreign films.
