I went to see this film in the cinema because I had read the book in English at school and I found the filming was very good. It stars Jeremy Irons as a Professor who becomes obsessed with the daughter of his landlady, Lolita. In the original book Lolita is 12 years old but in the movie she is 14 and played by a 15 year old girl. The subject is very controversial and focuses on his destructive realtionship with Lolita and the implications on his life and hers. The film is simply brillaint and does justice to the book, it tackles a difficult subject in a very tasteful way with good results. I would recommend this film to anyone who is into literature and a fan of Jeremy Irons. He turns in a very good performance as you would expect from such a talented actor.
