Ok where were you on July 13th 1985 now if you are any younger than 25 I may excuse you but if you are older then you should know what that date was yes it was Live Aid, I was 16 at the time sadly I didn't get to go there as it was down in London (Wembly Stadium), but I got to watch it all on the Television.

It started in London at Midday, USA joined in at Midday their time which was around 5pm our time UK ended at 10pm then USA took us through to around 4am next day what a spectacular show it was.

Now at that time Video Recorders were fairly new to the world and our house didn't have one so sadly the show was confined to memory for me, until last year when they released Live Aid the DVD.

Live Aid was the creation of Bob Geldof and Midge Ure and it came about after they had recorded the original Band Aid song "Do They Know It's Christmas" which was created after Bob and Midge saw a BBC news report about the famine in Africa.

Do They Know It's Christmas to this day is still the biggest selling single of all time and featured bands such as Duran Duran, Bananarama, Wham and acts such as Boy George and who could forget the wonderful vocals of Bono from U2.

The entire proceeds from the concert went to charity and the acts performed free of charge, it got to the stage that they had so many acts wanting to perform that they had to refuse some of them.

So what does this 4 disc set have then - lets see

I think the whole show was kicked off in style I mean who apart from Status Quo could have started a spectacular like this other than with "Rocking All Over The World". All the performances were superb.

For those of you a bit young to remember and wondering why Phil Collins appears twice once in UK and once in USA well he actually done a world record that day in that he performed in the two concerts and he done this with the help of Concorde.

If you were at the Live Aid concert or just remember it on the day then I would say buy this if you haven't already done so and if you are a bit young to remember it when it happened then still buy it and see how great it was and if you don't know who half the performers are ask your mum and dad they should know lol.

This is priced at £29.99 for the 4 discs and I feel it is great value.
