I was one of those lucky few who was there on the day. The day that music changed the world something that has continued ever since but has never been achieved up to this standard. I have been to many many live gigs but this one comes right at the top, I can still remember the shivers down my spine as I felt the excitement from crowds and performers alike so, when the concert was released on DVD I decided to purchase it. All proceeds from this dvd goes to the Band Aid trust to continue their help in feeding the world. The 4 disc DVD is beautifully presented in a fold out cover which slips into a protective box., It contains an informative booklet giving information and glossy colour photographs from that day.. Fantastic 20th Anniversary Live Aid Box Set

Advantages: Near Perfect Box Set
Disadvantages: Some Artists refused to give rights

Years overdue, finally the most ground braking fund raising event the world has ever seen has been given what it deserves ? a full DVD release. This 20th Anniversary four disc collection contains the majority of the concert that took place both at Wembley and Philadelphia in July 1985. The first disc begins with a prequel showing the initial Band Aid ?Feed the World? video and the USA equivalent ?We are the world? video. We are then presented with the opening of the concert at Wembley, and then all the acts are shown chronologically throughout the four discs cutting between both venues finishing with the USA for Africa finale. It is a truly fantastic box set that does the event justice, with the best possible sound and video quality despite the footage being 20 years old. Live Aid

Advantages: Great music still sounds fresh
Disadvantages: Those bad 80's hair dos

If you don't remember live aid, then this DVD is a must for you, and if you do remember it, it's worth buying to relive the memories of the day that rock music changed the world. Spread over four DVD's and ten hours of footage, relive the big hair, the daglo fashion disasters, and the golden age when rock stars got up on stage, played their own instruments, and belted out their own original material. Of course, the majority of people agree that Queen stole the day, and it is regretably true that there will never be another frontman to rival the impossibly charismatic Freddie Mercury, but this DVD illustrates the quality of rock stars that were around 20 years ago.
