She becomes a performer in a nightclub under a new name, Lexus. A cop (Cruz, played be Steve Roth) keeps investigating the drug deal and risks exposing Lexus and her hidden past.
It's an OK plot, it's full of mystery and whatnot, but there are twists which could have been kept secret to make it more interesting. I think it's a bit far-fetched that Carlita/Lexus is still being hunted after 8 years ...
Advantages: Stephen King book so bound to be good Disadvantages: None, it's a great film
Flicking through the sky movies channels last night we came across the film "Secret Window" just about to start. I got excited immediately as I had seen the adverts for this when it came out and I knew it was based upon a Stephen King book called "Secret Window, Secret Garden". I am a fan of Stephen King but haven't read all of his books yet and this was one of them, so I was really eager to watch this as I had no preconceptions of the story or obviously knew what would or should happen in the film.

Emily (Evan Rachel Wood) is a fourteen year-old violinist who is spending the summer rehearsing for the symphony while her friends are away at camp. She lives in a perfect suburban community, but the other kids in the neighborhood have lots of secrets--secret that they are willing to tell Emily for fifty cents each. For that price, she will take the paper they are written on and lock them in a secret chest for safe keeping. When she befriends a new kid named Philip (Michael Angarano), he tells her a secret, too, but not long after, all the secrets she's been keeping force Emily to come to terms with a secret of her own.
