The first Series of Lionman introduces us to Craig Busch, the Lionman, and Zion Wildlife Gardens. The wildlife park can be found in Whangarei, Northern New Zealand.
We are introduced to many of the parks animal inhabitants. Among them are the lions; the male Zion (with whom Craig shares a very strong bond as he hand-reared him) and his sister Shia.
Craig has also obtained a pride of wild Barbary Lions, several Royal White Tigers and some orange Bengal Tigers.
Over the course of the first series, we begin to understand the reasons why Craig set up the park, and I personally was amazed at how much he manages to fit into one day.
Without the help and support of his partner Karen, and the rest of the staff, this show would not have the emotional impact that it does.
A thoroughly enjoyable series and I cannot get enough of this show!
