This a story about a young hawaiin girl by the name of Lilo. Her sister is her legal guardian and is possibly at the risk of losing full guradian rights to Lilo and tried her hardest to make sure she keeps her. She takes Lilo to a dog shelter where Lilo chooses a dog and names him Stitch. The only problem is that Stitch is no dog but in fact and alien that has crash landed on earth. Lilo say that "Ohana" is what is important to her. "Ohana" is a hawaiian word meaning family and no one gets left behind or forgotten.
Since perhaps Tarzan I would say that Disney have been slightly loosing their touch. Although I have never seen a bad Disney film, they do seem to be missing their ‘classic’ element. Although I wouldn’t say Lilo and Stitch is a classic it certainly is a good movie. It’s not a fairy tale but it does have the elements of a Disney film that really touches your heart. I saw the movie when it came out in cinemas in America and have recently seen it again on DVD, the DVD is packed with extra’s including fun things to do like learning how to Hawaiian dance and a Lilo & Stitch quiz. The movie is well put together and has a few jokes thrown in to make the whole family giggle. You will start off hating Stitch but he soon becomes a lovable character. After the opening scene, which didn’t immediately have been captured it does improve, as soon as you enter Hawaii it is all up hill and makes a great movie! It’s one to watch.

Advantages: Kids will like it, Elvis soundtrack, ocassional funny moment, 'cute' if you like that kind of thing Disadvantages: Lazy, lazy production. Disney morals(again), no surprises, not a classic Disney movie by any stretch of the imagination
Advantages: lovely quality of drawn animation, positive messages, realistic body forms and facial feautres Disadvantages: some of the extras could have been left off without harm
Advantages: Great soundtrack from Elvis, Original characters and nice family plot line Disadvantages: Its mad that the characters actually believe Stitch is a dog when he is clearly an alien!!
