Advantages: Warm movie about father and son Disadvantages: None
...This movie is starred by Jim Caviezel and Dennis Quaid who played the son and father respectively in this movie. First of all, I would like to say this movie is a worth-to-see movie. The movie presents a fresh idea of time travelling, of which the father and son talked through a old model of radio transmitter and receiver across the parallel universes - the signal transmitted can travel across time. This movie is a blend of science fiction (time travelling), story of a family connection (father and son) and tragedy , crime thriller (father and son tried to stop the killer from killing the mother).
There are lots of twists in the movie - the son warned his father how to escape from the fire to prevent from being killed and then caused the change of history which caused his mother being murdered by a serial killer. At last, both of them...

Advantages: Nice idea Disadvantages: Bit to much sentimentalism, confusing at start
...I really enjoyed this film, which was a surprise because I didn't like the sound of it. It is a well written, well thought out film, although sometimes it can be too over-flowing with American Sentimentalism.
Basically, in 1969, Frank Sullivan, a fire fighter, is killed in a fire. By some stroke of fortune, in 1999 his son John finds a HAM radio and is able to establish contact with his father back in 1969, and warns him about the fire, so he doesn't die.
This changes history and John's mother ends up being killed, so together father and son investigate the circumstances, and in a very exciting final scene, save John's mother.
It wasn't the best film I have ever seen, but it certainly was enjoyable, and based on an excellent idea....

Advantages: Old-fashioned father-son relationship story, thrilling race to save the past Disadvantages: Slightly far-fetched
...If nothing else is said of "Frequency", it will certainly be remembered for its original twist on an old plotline. It tells the tale of a man who finds he is able to contact his father from the past through an old ham radio. What sounds like a rather far-fetched plot is actually pulled off surprisingly well. As the son alters the past in a fashion reminiscent of "Back to the Future", the film twists and turns between light sci-fi and gentle excitement. The slightly unbelievable storyline is really just a facade for a fantastic, and memorable, story of the relationship between a father and son. A little nbelievable at worst, touching at best, "Frequency" is a pleasantly watchable film....
