It starts off with Riggs (Mel Gibson) and Murtaugh (Danny Glover), are forced to ‘beat the street’ and hand out parking violations etc.. Murtaugh is near retirement and is quite happy to stay out of trouble. Upon their beat walking, Riggs spots something odd outside a bank and goes to investigate, turns out.. it’s a robbery. The chase is on, eventually leading to a knocked out suspect that’s under arrest. At the police station, an Internal Affairs officer (Rene Russo), explains that its her case and tells the boys to continue beat walking. Riggs, being the nosy one, follows her to see the witness, only to find him shot dead in the police interview room. Ooops.
Quizzing the Internal Affairs Officer, Riggs and Murtaugh find out that a load of weapons have been taken from the secure holding underneath the police station and are being used on the street, she suspects a bent cop.. but needs to prove it. Leo Getz (Joe Pesci), appears as a Real Estate Agent this time, he recognises the cop and tells them where he can find him.
Lethal Weapon 3 is again full of action, stunts, and laughter that cannot be missed. Rene Russo’s role of the Internal Affairs Officer attracts Riggs and the pair become intimately involved, they turn into a team that likes to kick-ass.
Unfortunately, Murtaugh’s family is looking forward to his retirement, but after all this action.. doesn’t want to leave.
