now he counts the odds before bucking them. Fun it is. And exciting from its breathless opening chase through L.A. streets to its raging gun-battle finale. In between there's a six-story plummet from a window a booby-trapped toilet a Houdini-like underwater escape and the incredible destruction of a chic hillside slit house " With Mel and Danny Joe is the third stooge " director Richard Donner says. That makes three drop-dead funny guys. And one of them is lethal.

before in this director's cut version of Lethal Weapon 2. Riggs wows the pretties at a hotel spa before getting to Getz. Murtaugh receives bad bodywork news from an auto repairman after his beleaguered station wagon sees some Rigs-piloted street action. Plus, feisty Leo shares a newly included scene in which he recalls suspect's address by complex spins of numbers that, well, no one can tell it like Leo. And no one would follow his head but Riggs and Murtaugh. It's police procedure, Lethal style. And it's yours to enjoy as the duo draws a head on criminals hiding behind diplomatic immunity

When officer Martin Riggs, (played by Mel Gibson), and officer Roger Murtaugh, (played by Danny Glover) come across a car boot full of Kruger ands (African gold coins) they soon realise that there is more to the bounty than first thought…
Meanwhile, the pair are assigned to protect Leo Getz, (played by Joe Pesci) who is a witness for the prosecution, as he was working as an accountant for a south African smuggling gang.
The L.A. officers are constantly taunted by the smugglers, especially the ringleader Arjen Rudd, (played by Joss Ackland), who revels in his diplomatic immunity…
The determined officers use a few dirty tactics to antagonise Rudd into making a mistake, including Riggs blundering attempts at flirtation with Rudds secretary Rika Van Den Haas (played by Patsy Kensit).
Things begin to take a few twists and turns as Riggs and Murtaugh neglect there protection duties concerning Leo and somehow lose the man….only to discover him later on in a very dangerous situation…
….also finding the not very happy South African gang…who kill many people in their quest to hide the truth.
But as Riggs learns the truth about a very emotional incident from his past it is not too long before his old insane self reappears to take his revenge…

A great sequel and a rather comical action/thriller.
The continuing partnership between Gibson and Glover remains as brilliant as ever in the creation of this movie… with the characters they are portraying being as they should be…
Riggs has calmed down a lot in this movie but is still as insanely funny as he taunts his older partner.
Whilst Murtaugh is still the same as old wise officer who is close to retirement and simply want an easy life.
The introduction of Joe Pesci as the hilarious Leo Getz, the wise cracking, fast talking and slightly annoying business man, really does give the movie more of a comical edge.
This movie is a lot more on the comedy side than the first Lethal weapon, with many hilarious scenes, especially a rather bizarre scene in Murtaughs bathroom, involving a toilet, sandbags and a very robust iron bath..???
The storyline is easy to follow, making it a very enjoyable watch indeed, and the action/stunts are brilliantly placed within the movie, creating nearly two hours of complete fun and some edge of your seat action…
And with the writers bringing in a little of Riggs past into the story, giving the audience a brief insight into why Riggs became suicidal, the movie keeps in touch with the first movie and you know there will be more sequels to come…
*Would I recommend this…?
Yes, I certainly would.
It is as good as, if not slightly better than the first Lethal Weapon, adding a good slice of comedy scenes throughout.
It has everything a movie of this calibre needs.. The customary car chases, gunfights, bloodbaths, more gunfights, fist fights and a bit of romance, (which was missing out of the first Lethal Weapon).
It is a must for any Gibson or Glover fan and can be bought from www.amazon.co.uk for less than £7.00...
Advantages: Great sequel Disadvantages: Not as good as the first film
...foreign theme here, as the Lethal Weapon series takes its second film into a South African laden plot once again involving drugs. The franchise waited a mere two years before making the sequel to the immensely successful Lethal Weapon in 1987, and this 1989 film was also popular, and featured the introduction of a new character in the form of Leo Getz, played by Joe Pesci.
The Plot
Riggs and Murtaugh are chalk and cheese. The detective coupling ... ...come close to the original Lethal Weapon film in 1987. The Apartheid conflict is briefly touched on here, and there are some dodgy South African accents on show. The script was penned by the same man who wrote the original film, Shane Black, and originally it was more vicious, but it was decided this was too much. Pesci outperforms most of the time, but the stars of the show are once again Gibson and Glover, as you would expect. The volatile and ...

Advantages: Breaks that 'good original, poor sequel' routine Disadvantages: Leo Getzs is funny but can be annoying too
Lethal Weapon 2 brings back the successful comic duo Mel Gibson and Danny Glover in another side splitting adventure directed by Richard Donner (the other Lethal Weaon movies) and prodeuced by Joel Silver ("The Matrix")
Sergeant Murtaugh (Glover - "Predator 2", "The Colour Purple") is still the family man and Sergeant Riggs (Gibson - "Signs", "We Were Soldiers) is still the thrill seeker, loose cannon. I recommend this film, especially if you are a fan of the series (I am), if not you should give it a try, you'll probably like it. Be sure to look out for the special director's Cut out on DVD for a very cheap price (£12.99 I think) as this version contains an extra four minutes of otherwise deleted footage.
This film is police procedure, lethal style! A very enjoyable action/comedy ...

...than playing on past glories, Lethal Weapon 2 could easily stand alone as an original movie in its own right and that is very much in its favour. The rough edges which could arguably be said to be seen in the original are smoothed out by the inclusion of Boam on the team and the addition of the additional character played by Pesci simply add a deeper dimension to the proceedings. This movie is perhaps not quite so high paced as the original and does ... ...who cares about that? This is an action movie after all, perfect for a little bit of Friday evening no-braining in front of the television and should be judged on those merits rather than anything else. It begins with Riggs and Murtaugh in high-speed pursuit of a red BMW through the streets of LA. The chase is fast and furious and results in the kind of mayhem and destruction which we have come to associate the pair with from the original movie, ...

Lethalweapon2(1989) is the sequel to the original Lethalweapon(1987).Mel Gibson and Danny Glover return as LA cops
Riggs and Murtagah, this time looking to bring down South African gangsters led by Joss Auckland.Joe Pesci is the wisecracking Leo Getz the informant under Police protection who gets dragged into helping Riggs/Murtagh out.Patsy Kensit is the personal assitant to Joss Ackland who gets involed in a romance with Riggs. The film is again directed by Richard Donner.
Lethal2 kicks off with a bang!..A very quick precredit with just the film logo explodes to a fantastic carchase which takes in Helicopters, explosions and Gibson wisecracks sets the tone nicely. The film is dominated by the action scenes which are really well done.A car chase with a flying canoe,a tall leap into a swimming pool, and soame explosive shootouts ...
Advantages: Brilliant action, comedy, thrills and story. Disadvantages: Couldn't fault it.
and 58 minutes. It was made in 1992 and like all the others; directed by Richard Donner. Shane Black also wrote all the LethalWeapons.
Obviously it was made in America and the language used was English.
The film took about 1 year to make and all returning characters were happy to participate.
LethalWeapon 3 is, of course, on DVD and costs about £8.99 singly in your local HMV. Recently you can now buy LethalWeapon 1,2,3 and 4 in a special box set for only £24.99.
LethalWeapon 3 on DVD includes:
The Motion Picture
Trailers
Production notes
Surround sound compatible and the usual audio and visual options.
Looking into it, it sadly appears to be the case that Mel Gibson thinks he is too old to do another LethalWeapon or Mad Max so the possibility of LethalWeapon 5, looks extremely unlikely.

would think this is standard, especially by today's standards.
Interesting fact #1 - The guy who was the target at the funeral is called Steve Kahan, you may recognise him as the Police Chief from the LethalWeapon films. He is Richard Donner's cousin and is in every film that Donner directs. It's true.
Interesting fact #2 - The DVD used to come in a snap case which has now been discontinued. These DVD's in this type of case are worth more to collectors.
Availability of the disc is good and can be found at leading retailers for around £10. You should be able to get it cheaper on-line for about £5 - £6. For a film that has a 15 certificate and is just over 2 hours in length, this is extremely good value for money and a worthy addition to anyone's DVD collection. I would even put my neck on the line to say that this is one of Stallone ...
