Norman Wisdom was born in 1915. He had a difficult upbringing and spent some time in a childrens home. He served in the Merchant navy and took part in WW2 before becoming an actor in 1946 at the age of 31.
He has never looked back.
He has made 19 movies in total and appeared, at the last count, 16 times on TV.
His career has spanned from his early beginnings in 1948 in the movie 'A Date with a Dream' and his First TV 'Wit and Wisdom' also in 1948. And Up until 2004 starring on TV in 'Five Children and It'.
He also starred in the longest running sitcom in TV history 'Last of the Summer Wine'.

Released in the summer of 1986 this hour and forty minute movie follows the life of a truck driver who happens upon some 'Big troublein Little China' town.
**BRIEF PLOT**
Jack Burton, (played by Kurt Russell) is a truck driver with a simple life, the love of money, drinking, Gambling and his beloved Truck, until one day when he and his friend Wang Chi, (played by Dennis Dun) go to the local airport to pick up Wang's girlfriend, Miao Yin (played by Suzee Pai).
Unfortunately, at exactly the same time, a group from Chinatown grab Maio Yin from the Airport with the intention of using her for an ancient ritual regarding a 2000 year old ...
Advantages: excellent direction by Mr. A. Hitchcock, superb storyline, witty one-liners,fantastic acting. Disadvantages: Some bold and corny dialogues, weaker characterization of Miss Gravely.
