I absolutely love this movie, although not being a blonde this movie definitely showed me a new side to the blondes and Reese Witherspoon got her point accross well that not all blondes are dumb. I went to see this film in a preview screening, the majority of the audience were girls and the few men were probably going to have a look at the women on screen. When coming out of the cinema afterwards it made me happy and feel very girly for some reason. There is meant to be a Legally Blonde 2 being made, I really don't know what will happen here but it was such a success the film in the US so they were in talks. CHARACTERS ________ Elle Woods-Reese Witherspoon Warner-Matthew Davis Luke Wilson-Emmett Richmond Selma Blair-Vivian Thelma Kensington Jennifer Coolidge-Paulette Bonafonté Ali Larter-Brooke Taylor-Windhame
Elle Woods is a natural blonde with everything, she is president of her sorority and dates the cutest boy on campus. All Elle needs now is for Warner to ask her the question her and her friends expect him to, but there is a let down because she is too blonde and not good enough to become Mrs Warner Huntington III. Warner then leaves for Harvard Law and finds his old girlfriend from school, so determined Elle does everything she can to do Law as well to get him back. To get in she has to sit exams again and send in a video which is funny because she is in a bikini floating on a lilo in her pool and the video is unusual from the usual ones, once it stops the peopel working there look shocked but decide to let her get in. Elle doesn't know if she will survive here, no malls, no friends everything so serious, but she does find somewhere to get a manicure. Elle meets Warner at Harvard and he does not believe she is there, Vivian she meets at this moment and she is bitchy to Elle too. Once in Harvard Elle has to get on with things, even though Margot and Serena her best friends are not there with her she can still phone. One of her friends is a brunette which I found weird but it was good. Elle becomes good friends with the woman that works in the salon for manicures also and she helps her out a lot, so she has a friend sort of like her.
From the beginning of this film there is a lot of blondes and shades of pink. There is many clueless type phrases, known as blonde speak. Reese Witherspoon portrays Elle brilliantly without having to insult anyone, she is innocent, beautiful and very funny, definitely talented. This film is not filled with cheesy jokes all the way through, nothing like Dumb and Dumer done in a much classier way. When she first arrives at school everyone categorizes her as a barbie so this does make her stand otu a lto but really she looks better than them all in her designer clothes and her dog dressed up also. This is done in a comical way altjhough meant to be taken seriously too, many different qualities make her stick out like her I-mac computer when everyone elses is plain black hers is clear, the pink fluffy pen, girly notebook and the rest just have their dull pens and their laptops, when at first Elle does not have a laptop.
Many things make her different which is why she does not seem to fit in.
In the end of the film I will not say what happens but through out the film Elle does mature a little, and they do tell you what happens to every charatcer at the end so you are not left waiting for an ending Many of the cast have worked together in films previously, Selma and Reese in Cruel Intentions. Matthew and another in Urban Legends:The Final Cut.
This film is a brilliant girly movie, Reese plays her part well as do the others. This is out on DVD and is the perfect film to watch.

I watched this and to start with thought it was so poor I nearly gave up on it but I sat through it and it got a bit better but it wasn't as good as all the hype made it out to be.
