The sirens start, swimmys seen a chick-flick!!!, Chick-flicks, they like suck don´t they?, well usually yes - but usually isn´t all the time is it?, and um I kinda liked watching Legally Blonde, shoot me if you want but I did.

** So when you gonna get reviewing the film then? **

Um, right about NOW!, it is though, its a chick-flick, us guys don´t go to see them do we?, well I do, sometimes, usually when I´ve had a bit of a downer and got nothing better to do and well y´know it kinda felt like one of those days.

Brief synopsis of the movie time?, you´re damn right!, All Blondes are dumb aren´t they?, they couldn´t get an intelligent job if they tried right?, well wrong and to be honest thats the underlying theme in the movie.

Remember Clueless?, of course you do..... Remember Cher in Clueless? (Not the singer, the character played by Alicia Silverstone), then you´ll be right at home with the main character - Elle Woods, first impressions that you´re gonna get are those of a `blonde bimbo´ - Fashions the main thing for her well that and her boyfriend Warner Huntington III, and we start the movie as she prepares for a night out with Warner in which she believes hes going to propose to her, thing is hes not (trust me its not a spoiler), hes dumping her because shes not the kind of girlfriend a `future senator´ has (senator being his ambitions) and in his own words `shes a Marilyn not a Jackie´ (obvious references to Marilyn Monroe and Jackie Onassis you foolish readers you).

This leads Elle to go on an all-out-attempt to win Warner back - that means only one thing - Law School, shes smart, shes clever, heck she has a masters in the History of Fashion!, so Law can´t be hard can it?, well when she tries to get into Harvard University its hard, needless to say we see her join up and thats where the fun begins.

** Rightyho!, no more plot-lines for you sonny **

Thats it!, no!, it´ll be a waste of money going to see it if I give any more away - lets just say theres obviously a trial in the movie seeing as a lot of it is about law k?

** But is it a good movie swimmy? **

short answer?, yes, long answer?, well just add a few more e´s in the middle of yes - see its got that `feel-good factor´ and a lot of movies now-a-days will concentrate on that and that alone, Legally Blonde doesn´t y´know?, it has a proper storyline to it as well, and by proper I mean the type that you can get along with, the type that you don´t sit wondering why something just happened - it works and thats the main thing.

** And the cast are idiots yes?, well no **

Here have a cast-list, you lovely, lovely people you

Elle Woods played by Reese Witherspoon (Pleasantville, Cruel Intentions) - Can I drool a second please?, um yes, ta muchly, the character then - Blonde Bimbo and proud of it, the character of Elle was never going to be an easy one, but the cast selectors have found just the right mix of `Bimbo´ and `Actually Quite Intelligent Blonde Lass´ with Witherspoon theres many times in comedy movies when the main character takes over the show and ruin it (Ace Ventura movies - we´re looking at you), but this time Woods in a genuinely funny character whilst allowing the space to let other characters shine as well.

Warner Huntington III played by Matthew Davis II (Urban Legends: Final Cut, Pearl Harbor): Um, yeah, well, hes not that good is he?, well no, see every film has a character that doesn´t seem to fit in and with Legally Blonde Warner be thy name. He´s a drip y´see, but worse than that hes a drippy drip and not good at that - hes not bad, just not that good either - I mean when hes on-screen, the movie just takes a down-turn, nothing against Davis, just don´t do comedy again eh?

Emmett Richmond played by Luke Wilson (Rushmore, Charlies Angels): Once again its a drip - but a good drip, hes the general good-guy here, the one you cheer for, hope gets the girl, etc, and y´know what hes a good character for the film, providing a few comedy moments and your usual slushy moments (well it is a chick-flick after all), hes got the mix of Posh and Normal character all rolled into one, and ensures that the movie keeps rolling on at a good pace.

Vivian Kensington played by Selma Blair (Cruel Intentions, TV Show: Zoe,
Duncan, Jack & Jane): can I drool again please?, well once again y´know its a female character and, um, well yeah... so the character then - shes meant to be a rich-bitch, and oh yes she is, theres a genuine `cattiness´ in the character and she genuinely has some scene-stealing moments, all of which add up to a great character (well sorry with a face like that I can´t give her a bad review can I?)

Professer Callaghan played by Victor Garber (First Wives Club, Titanic): The tutor that takes Elle in, its not so much of a big part in the movie but Garber makes it his own, hes got to play the authoritarian bit well and successfully takes that on whilst instilling a tiny bit of comedy into his part, short review of the character I know, but bit parts are so hard to talk about y´know?

Paulette Bonafonte played by Jennifer Coolidge (Down to Earth, American Pie): Another bit-part!, its obvious this is meant to be the character that Elle will be in years to come, shes a beauty therapist who lets Elle bounce off her and also uses Elle to give her a bit more confidence, and there are some of the more genuinely funny moments in the film shown between Paulette and Elle.

Brooke Taylor-Windham played by Ali Larter (House on Haunted Hill, Final Destination): errrrrrrrm its drool time again, sorry, I drooled at her in Final Destination and I´m gonna do it again - sorry. Now where were we? ah yes, Windham - shes the rich woman on trial y´see (told you there was a court case in here), shes a hero of Elles and everything that is blonde - classes Cosmopolitan as `The Bible´, releaes fitness videos and is generally the bimbo, its not comedy from her though, as most of the time she has to play the serious part, it can´t be easy, but Larter pulls it off well, managing to slot into the flow of the movie easily.

** Its all location, location, location **

It is y´know, and here the main locations you see are, Harvard University, a court-room and LA - its all extremely realistic and probably actually shot in the buildings they claim to be, usually especially in Comedy movies you can find goofs in the locations, not this time though, not that much to say about it I know, but well its just realistic, thats the easiest way to place it for me.

** Wrapping it up **

Sorry I am, I´m done, finished, etc, apart from a quick word on the soundtrack, its tres good, special shout needs to go out to Perfect Day by Hoku, its a song that I can´t get out of my head (first one to say a Kylie Joke gets shot), its got it all, pop, rock, etc, and sits in with the movie perfectly.

So would I see the film again?, definitely!, I don´t usually like chick-flicks, but this ones got that little something y´know (probably meaning Ali Larters face but ah well), and it will have you sat smiling and giggling all the way through.
