Legally Blonde was one of my favourite films when it first came out. It was funny, heartwarming, inspirational. I thought it was perfect as just the one film. When Legally Blonde 2 came out I personally didn't think that it would be any good. I therefore never had any urge to watch it. That was until it was advertised this week on the TV. So was it any good? Or just another rubbish sequel..
..................... The Story .....................
Elle Woods is back, shes part of a successful law firm and by the looks very popular there. Shes still with Emmett, planning their wedding, which is to take place in a certain football stadium.
Elle then decides that Bruiser, her loving Pooch, has to have his parents at the wedding. So Elle sets out to find Bruisers Parents. She then finds Bruisers mother in an animal testing Lab.
In true Elle Woods fashion she decides to fight to get the all the dogs out of the Lab. Elle goes to her law firm to get backing, but after a very blonde presentation it ends up with Elle getting fired.
Worried that Emmett wont want to marry someone who has just been sacked. Elle becomes determined to get the law on animal testing changed, not only to get Bruisers mother free but to also secure her marriage will happen.
Elle then joins a Legal Aid firm, where the other members take a straight disliking to her. With the Pink, the constant happy attitude, they think that she is just another barbie! But in true Elle fashion she proves that she didnt get a Harvard Law Degree for doing her hair and nails!!
Elle gains support from the Doorman of her Hotel, Sid, a former Delta Nu Libby Hauser, Chairman Standford Marks, the owner of a stallion dog who takes a liking to Bruiser. Elle gets a hearing for Bruiser's Bill. It seems like everything is full steam ahead as the hearing is in full applaud for Bruisers Bill. Suddenly Elles Boss Victoria withdraws her support and it brings it all to a halt. Without her support the Bill can't go through.
Elle decides that theres nothing more which she can do and prepares to give up and go back home. Her new work colleagues try to convince her to stay and battle on..
Will Elle manage to be convinced and will she get people to see things her way and get the law changed? Will her and Emmett Tie the Knot? ... Well .... That would be telling!!
................. My View .................
I loved the first film, and my lord the second is a great follow up to it. Reece Witherspoon somehow makes the character Elle Woods even more loveable than before. You can't help but want to go and help her with her case!
The way in which the Delta Nu sisters and Paulette are still part of the film it familiarises you with the characters straight away! Its like you only just watched the first one!
All the way through the film i found myself wanting to go and save animals!
One thing which you can't help but notice is that Luke Wilson isnt in it as much as I think he should be. Not a huge Luke Wilson fan but I think his character could have ben given a stronger role in the film.
But all in all this is such an upbeat film it gives you such a warm feeling inside. It can only make you smile!
