°o.O The Previous Film O.o° - (for those who haven't seen it)
Basically, this is the second film after Legally Blonde 1 which was released in 2001. For the people who haven't seen it, it is about a girl named Elle Woods who is extremely girly and absolutely adores pink. When her long term boyfriend breaks up with her she won't let anything get in her way to try and win him back, which includes going to Harvard Law School. But one thing she never realised is that she would actually like it or even do well, and in a way it was like fate for her to end up there. She ends up becoming a lawyer, and not focusing on winning her ex back and that is what this story is all about.
°o.O The Plot O.o°
In this film, Elle Woods is getting married and, loving her chihuahua Bruiser to bits, she really wants her dog's mother to be there. She privately hires a detective to find out where it is, and she shockingly discovers that it is being tested on in an animal testing facility. Mortified, she immediately knows that she has to change the way we test our products and medicines, and so she goes to Washington D.C. to try and put things right in time for her fairytale wedding. She joins the staff of a congresswoman in order to pass a bill to ban animal testing, and with the help of a few friends she holds a campaign. She becomes good friends with the leading congresswoman who used to be a member of the Delta Nu society, and she tells Elle that she will try to help her as much as possible to pass the bill. But when her fellow co-workers fail to abide by her rules, it appears that she may have her work cut out for her. This is a heart warming feel-good film for all those girly-girls out there, one not to be missed.
°o.O My Opinion O.o°
It can't beat the original film, I thought Legally Blonde 1 was much better. I also thought the film was quite unrealistic and at times a bit 'over the top', but overall it was great. I liked the characters a lot, especially Elle Woods with her always-happy and bubbly personality, and I thought Reese Witherspoon did an excellent job of playing her. One of the funniest scenes was when she finds out that her chihuahua Bruiser is homosexual, and has feelings for a much larger dog, the pair looked insane together and Elle quoted, "No wonder he liked wearing my shoes, I just thought he liked the height." This film is rated 12A, and so wouldn't be suitable for children, and it is also a chick flick comedy and most men probably wouldn't like it either, but if you like that sort of stuff, you'll love this.
