Another girlie night in with Toria and having watched Legally Blonde on TV last Sunday (thoroughly enjoyed it - surprisingly enough) we opted to rent Legally Blonde 2 on DVD.
Elle has blossomed into an even girlier woman and is happily planning her wedding to Emmet. But wait - in her girlie mind she cannot leave Bruiser - her chihuahua out of the proceedings! On Bruiser's guest list should be his long lost Mum.
But Bruiser was a rescue dog with no pedigree to bark of - so Elle employs a detective to seek out the bitch - not Bruisers dad of course because that would be more difficult?!!!
Amazingly enough the detective discovers Bruisers mum in a laboratory where they test girlie products on animals.
Elle, for all her immaculate make up and hair products is disgusted and tries to get the company to release the animals.
Although politically damaging to her current employment - she holds a presentation on the fate of Bruisers mum to her employers. They, however, have an affiliation to the testing company and Elle is fired!!
Undetered, she heads for Washington to fight for animal rights - there are some really funny scenes as she stamps her blondeness on her colleagues - when they are arguing she brings out her pink 'Snaps cup' gives them all a piece of paper and asks them to write a nice comment about each of their colleagues! Complete madness and the expression on their faces is wonderful! Snaps for Elle there!
Elle is determined to bring 'Bruiser's Bill' -an animal rights programme and a very pink document to congress despite everyone trying to stop her - she manages to bypass everyone with her seemingly blank expression which must hide the super intellectual mind of this Harvard Law Graduate.
All this while arranging the 'wedding of the century' to the very gorgeous Emmet ! And to Toria's disbelief they drove away from the wedding in a 'pink' Smart car. Toria was told she couldn't have a pink one but thats another review!
Enough - I'm not going to spoil it! I would never have entertained watching either of these movies - thinking they were of the 'clueless' genre but I have thoroughly enjoyed both of them. Cleverly produced and wonderful acting from Reese Witherspoon, Sally Field and Bob Newhart to name but a few!
oops - nearly forgot to mention the extra features- really worth watching as all special effects are explained and the cast have their say on how much they enjoyed making the film.
An easy, fun evening - no deep and meaningfuls here - in fact a night off from the real world! I loved it!
Suffice to say we are introducing the 'snaps' cup in my office today I can see the benefits of one of those!
