So, what should you expect when you go to see Legally Blonde 2? Rent the first film and you've got the idea!
Legally Blonde 2 is a fun, feel good film, and nothing more, but that's not a bad thing!
The film opens with a rather cheesey scene, where Elle's (Reese Witherspoon) friends flip through a scrapbook, which basically shows us what happened in the first Legally Blonde, and what has happened since. It's all very cute and pink and bubbley, so I guess it sets the scene well!
The plot of the film is pretty much the same as Legally Blonde One, Elle moves away from home (last time to Harvard, now to Washington), she has to overcome a sneaky boss and sceptic co-workers to prove that not all blondes are dumb, and that you should follow your heart.
From what I've written so far, you probably hate the idea of this film, but what's given Legally Blonde a huge following (and they're not all just pre-teen gitlies!) is the whole package, not just the story lines. It's the clothes, the hair, the laughs, the acting. The weak story line doesn't matter because there are very few people who go to see Legally Blonde who are watching for plot!
The cute outfits and cool hair almost become a part of the story as you'll become just as interested in them as in what's actually happening. The humour isn't exactly deep thinking, intelligent laughs, but once you get into the spirit of the film you'll be laughing at the gay dogs with the rest of 'em!
With this kind of Teen Movie, you wouldn't really expect the acting to be up to much, but the actors (especially Reese Witherspoon) have really approached this film in the right way, and it's clear they had fun with it!
If you're looking for a serious film then this definitely isn't the one to watch, but for a fun trip to the cinema and a rest for your brain cells, Legally Blonde 2 is worth a look!
