I'm a Yorkshire lass, born & bred and proud of it. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else! I am married to my lovely hubby Lee and my terrible twosome are now 6 and 3, they don't half grow quickly.

Could anything be more lighter-than-air than the first "Blonde"? More improbable in terms of plot, pacing and pooch couture. Well, yes!. It only lasts a mere 94 minutes, but in my opinion "Legally Blonde 2" is fast & too furiously packed with "Omigod, I can't believe she just said that [and that I laughed]"-type lines to do anything but sit back and enjoy it. There are occasional misfires, a rather strange rap sequence with Congressional interns down on all-fours is one. Still, unlike a lot of big summer movies,” Blonde 2" is fun. If not quite as "superfun!" (quote Elle) as its predecessor, it's only because again it is a ‘been there done that’ kind of film.
This time around, Elle's swimming with the sharks in Washington D.C., although - always the girly optimist - she has no idea how nasty things will get when she pops in for her first day of work at Congresswoman Rudd's (Sally Field) office.
“Oh my God," one Rudd staffer snarls. "It's Capitol Barbie." "She's so . . . shiny," another mocks.
Now planning her wedding to Emmett (Luke Wilson, back and still looking as dull as dishwater), Elle puts the wedding on hold & moves to D.C. to push for a bill banning animal testing. You see, the private investigator she has hired to find Bruiser's "biological" mother has led her to a lab full of dogs trapped in cages at a cosmetics company. Silly plot? Well, yes of course it is. All of it! Meanwhile, Elle seems anything but stupid as she gets her bill heard through a combination of newly-acquired Capitol Hill street smarts (helped by Bob Newhart's deadpan doorman) and her own unique understanding of human makeup.
It's almost impossible to imagine any actress but Witherspoon pulling it off so well, and it's easy to understand her character's appeal, particularly to women. She is smart, non-discriminating AND girly! The film tries and succeeds in its underlying moral – it’s what’s on the inside that counts.
The film is fun, another to watch to while away the summer evenings without having to think too much or go home with the prospect of nightmares.
