Legally Blonde 2. (2003.)
Running Time: 1 Hour 31 Minutes.
Directed By: Charles Herman-Wurmfeld.
Cert: PG. (Parental Guidance.)
Please note I'm reviewing the VHS version of this movie, so there's nothing included on the special features of the DVD version, although I do know that the DVD includes audio commentary by the cast, deleted scenes, the music video for We Can by LeAnn Rimes, a "Welcome to Delta Nu" interactive quiz, a "Blonde Ambition" ... ...not-as-successful follow up to 2001's Legally Blonde, Elle Woods (Reese Witherspoon) is back and this time she's fighting against animal testing in the cosmetics industry. Determined to send her little chihuahua Bruiser's mom an invite to she and Emmett's wedding, Elle discovers that Bruiser's mom is a test subject in a cosmetics lab. Horrified, Elle takes the case to the senior partners of the law firm she now works at, where, predictably, she gets ...

Advantages: Witty one-liners, acting Disadvantages: not as good as the first
...failures. The first addition of Legally Blonde was brilliant and I absolutely loved it but was my feelings of this one to be the same? I was staying overnight at a friends and we had decided we would go out the next day but we had no idea where. We had seen pretty much everything that was out to see at the pictures, we didn’t fancy ice-skating and the boys didn’t weren’t too keen on shopping. It was then that I remembered. August 1st was the release ... ...to see this and so were the boys after a few stretches of the truth! (Boys are so gullible I mean come on what are the chances of Reese Witherspoon getting naked in a PG)
I had read a few reviews of this which were all good and judging from the trailers it looked really good and if the quality of the first instalment was anything to go by then this would be a kick ass film. After about 20 minutes of worthless adverts, eating (and throwing) popcorn ...

Advantages: The Clothes, Reese's performance Disadvantages: Not as funny as the first film
...in the first of the Legally Blonde films was the best move Elle could have ever made.
The soriety sister’s wedding plans are cruising along nicely as she spends her days pondering pink seating plans and cultivating the all important guest list. There’s just one problem. She still hasn’t managed to track one potential guest down and, as of course we all know, it’s common etiquette to RSVP at least six weeks before a wedding ... ...planned wedding to Emmett?
Legally Blonde 2 is not a film meant to be taken seriously. Following on in the same vein as the first movie it’s a tongue in cheek, light - hearted celebration of all things pink that verges on the unbelievable and is, at times, nothing but silly. However, Reese Witherspoon positively shines in her role as "Capital Barbie" Elle making the few really funny scenes in this movie truly memorable. For not all of the ...

Legally Blonde 2: Bigger, Bolder, Blonder
To give it it's UK subtitle. It's as though we in the UK cannot understand the reference Red, White and Blonde, which is the US subtitle.
With sequels there are two schools of thought - either you really try to make the next movie different and try to take the characters in whole new directions, or you just rest on your laurels. With Legally Blonde 2, it's very much in the latter ... ...she was in the first Legally Blonde, but due to over familiarisation with the character you find that you don't warm to her as much. Elle doesn't seem to have much chance to grow as a character and as such comes across as a bit one dimensional. It isn't Ms Witherspoon's fault, as we have witnessed her fantastic performances in other movies, such as Election, one of my favourite films.
Luke Wilson's character of Emmett the fiancé is only there as ...

...essentially the basic story behind LEGALLY BLONDE 2: RED, WHITE, AND BLONDE, a sequel to the 2001 hit that I also wrote an op on today. In fact, they manage to sneak in a clip from the 1939 film...even if you haven't seen it, you will know when it appears. Here, Elle Woods (Reese Witherspoon) has now graduated from Harvard and is now working for a top firm. Th mediocre story is by Eve Ehlert, Dennis Drake, and Kate Kondell, with the latter also writing the screenplay. Kondell is a first time screenwriter, which makes sense why she doesn't have the style and finesse of the original 10 THINGS I HATE ABOUT YOU scribes. (She has also written a love story involving ...

...LegallyBlonde
I went to see LegallyBlonde at the cinema when I won tickets for it on the Radio. Believe me, it wasn't my preference to see this film as it sounded stupid and unfunny but what the hell, it was free. Then this year, I got LegallyBlonde and LegallyBlonde2: Red, White And Blonde as a present. The pe
