Review of “Legacy” DVD format.
Production Year: 2002. Genre- Action/Adventure . Classification: 15 years and over ASIN B00006LSFP. Run time 102 minutes.
The DVD
Legacy is from Prism Leisure, it is an action/adventure movie The DVD I am reviewing is a one disc standard edition, the only special feature included in the DVD is a chapter selection.
Cast The main roles are taken by David Hasselhoff and Rod Steiger.
The Plot
Hasselhoff plays war photo journalist, Jack Scott. Jack is a photographer who leaves no stone unturned in his quest for the ultimate shot. The movie starts with Jack in an Asian war zone, he risks his own life and safety to capture a picture of war atrocities being committed by rebel factions in the area.
As a result, Jack photographs a sensitive situation and comes to the attention of the government of the country. He is deported and his journey home takes him through Manila. In Manila, Jack meets a young woman, Lana. Lana is in Manila trying to trace her father, a former US Green Beret Colonel. All Lana has to go on is a cryptic message that she received after her mother's death, asking her to be at a certain bar, at a certain time, on a certain date.
Jack finds the situation intriguing and agrees to help Lana. The two embark upon what seems at first an innocent quest to reunite Lana with her father. As the plot unfolds we see the couple becoming embroiled in a sequence of deception and closely guarded secrets. Jack and Lana find themselves facing hostile reactions from local people and realise that their lives are in danger.
I don't want to expand upon the plot any further for fear of spoiling others viewing pleasure.
Cost and Availability
My copy cost just £1 from my local Tesco store. The DVD is stocked on various websites such as www.amazon.co.uk for knockdown prices from 92p new and from 48p used.
My Thoughts and Conclusion
I felt the movie was worth watching, the plot was interesting, with enough twists and turns to keep your interest, however it seemed to lack 'something'. Just what that something was, I cannot really explain, the plot was good, the acting wasn't bad, the build up of tension in the finale was right, but there was definitely something missing.
Now, I am not a Hasselhoff fan, I liked the Knight Rider series on TV many years ago, but to be honest have not really watched anything else starring this actor. I neither like or dislike Mr Hasselhoff and have absolutely no strong feelings about his acting abilities or the roles he plays. In conclusion, I have to say that although, yes, this film is worth a watch, perhaps it is of more interest to fans of David Hasselhoff.
I recommend this DVD to others, especially if they are fans of David Hasselhoff!

Advantages: You get the first two Wrestlemanias in one buy and they are no longer available on video anymore. Disadvantages: It is an old style of wrestling, you must know what your getting or you might be left disapointed.
