I had heard of the comedian Lee Evans , but had never seen him perform. So when my sister bought the dvd , I decided to watch it. The DVD cost £14.99 from play.com
* Who is Lee Evans ? * Lee Evans was born on 25th February 1964 in Bristol. - He is 44 years old. Evans rose to fame in the 1990's as a comedian. He's also had a go at acting and is a musican. He'd already been a boxer and studied at art college for two years , when he decided to work in entertainment , just like his father. His nickname is Monkey Boy. His family are originally from Wales. He married his wife when he was seventeen , and together they have a fourteen year old daughter. They currently live in Essex.
* The DVD * The Dvd cover features Lee holding a balloon hanging in the air , underneath his name. The background is of the sky. The DVD is a 15 and therefore should not be seen by those under fifteen. Running time of the dvd is 2 hours and 21 minutes.
* The Tour * The DVD is of one of the performances Lee did on his "XL LIVE 2005 TOUR". The dvd was filmed in Cardiff. This was the biggest ever comedy tour. He visited thirty five cities and played to over 250,000 fans! This DVD shows the last performance of the tour.
* Performance * Lee Evans is a very talented man! He plays the piano ,guitar , as well as stand up comedy! He definitely works hard for his money. He's extremely energetic and most of his jokes are physical ; impressions which he is great at. He is just so funny! He ends the performance with a couple of songs. Because he's in Cardiff , he says some of his jokes in a welsh accent.
* Extras * The extra bit on the dvd shows Lee Evans rehearsing one of the songs he sings at the end of his show. Here we see that he can play the guitar. This is interesting because it shows a side to Lee Evans that I didn't know he had. The song he plays lasts a whole 5 minutes. This bit also gives information about the tour , such as how many performances Lee did on the tour , and how many miles they had to travel etc. It's intresting , because rather than just watching the show , we get to see Lee rehearse and learn facts about the tour . It also has some funny facts such as how many litres he sweats each night on stage. We also see him playing the piano - I didn't know he could , so that was a surprise.
* Gallery * The dvd features a gallery of photographs from Lee's performance - most of them which are funny!
* My Opinion *
I love this DVD. It had me in fits of laughter the whole time. He is just so random and funny. One thing which I like about Lee Evans is the fact that his jokes are based on every day things such as walking dogs and eating out at a restaurant. It's his physical impressions that are funny , such as when he's impersonating a cow running and dog walkers who walk to accommodate their dogs. I recommend this DVD to everyone - he's sooo good! I'd never watched him before , and I really loved it! He even beats my all time favourite Peter Kay. One thing which I dislike about him is the fact that he constantly sweats throughout his performance , and has to change his suit a couple of times. His sweating has become a well known trademark of his. I like how he's so genuine and gives off his best. He really is a star. Buy this DVD - you will not be disappointed! This DVD is definately worth the money!
