Lee is Welsh and so this DVD has an added atmosphere, being filmed in Cardiff in front of 4000 happy fellow countryman.
Lee has made a bit of a splash in Hollywood with films such as 'Mouse-hunt' and 'Something About Mary' but he really is at his best doing stand up.

Lee Evans, for those who do not know him is a bit like Norman Wisdom on speed with a red hot poker up his &*$£. The bonus footage tells us that he travels 11.8 miles on stage during this performance, thats a bit like running a half marathon while cracking jokes, pulling faces and being all round hilarious.
He sweats a lot and a towel is his constant companion on stage. I reckon he should have one of those signs that you see everywhere 'Caution Wet Floor' on either side of the stage :-)
The DVD is well put together and the set is very stylised in blue and white and it has an altogether polished feel, which might not suit some viewers who think that the 'Rock star' approach to comedy is over the top. I myself think that it helps keep situational comedians like Lee current and fresh.
I have seen Lee many times on the TV but this is the first time i have actually bought a DVD of his. I can tell you it wont be the last!!

Lee Evans is a little like marmite, you either love him or hate him.
Now, I find it hard to understand how anyone can watch this DVD and say that they didn't enjoy it. I've had to purchasr this again due to the excessive use from the old disc.
If you haven't heard of Lee Evans, i would recommend going on youtube and having a quick sneak peak at some of his clips. Search for 'chavs' or 'parcel force'. If that makes you laugh,get the DVD, because ... ...he has the same wit as most stand up commedians, it's more slapstick and funny faces, (yes, you know i'm right), but it works so well it's hillarious.
You'll love this DVD, not just because he rips the mick out of the local Welsh people (love you really) but the material is all new and not usual jokes you hear over and over again.

Well where should I start. Lee Evans is probably my favourite ever all time comedian. I have seen most of his dvds he has released and enjoyed all of them including this one. I highly anticipated that Lee Evans XL tour would be great and I wasn't disappointed. I was laughing so much from start to finish I almost started crying from the laughter. All the jokes etc in the Xl tour are all brand new material. Which made me very happy because sometimes ... ...out and have watched at least once a month as I find it so funny. Overall I think this Lee evans best yet. Unforgettable moments that made me watch it over and over again. Only bad bit is Evans quite rubbish singing at the end but you can bare it. ...

This is absolutely brilliant, Lee Evans is outstanding yet again.
For those of you that don't know much about Lee Evans he is a very physical and energetic comedian, He barely stands in one place for 2 seconds before he's off doing something else.
I went to watch this set performed live as part of the warm up tour to the show that this is recorded from. I was sat about 15 foot away from the man himself and he had me in absolute stitches from start ... ...about this DVD is that Lee Evans does re-use some of his older material and just mixes it in with the new stuff and changes the wording slightly, having said that though his original stuff is so good that it really doesn't take away from this brilliant performance from one of Britains hottest comedy minds.
The gags are fast anf funny, people of all ages will enjoy Lee Evans comedy as it is all very personal comedy that almost anyone will be able ...

...insight into how much work Lee Evans put into each and every show. Now...down to the show itself. To begin with, I was never sure about Lee Evans, I'd seen him in a few things, but nothing that really showed his true talent for making people laugh. After watching the DVD my view was changed forever. He is amazingly talented at not only telling jokes - but also performing them, and changing character at the drop of a hat. And the jokes! Some were ... ...laughing from start to finish. He is also an incredibly talented singer and songwriter, I was in awe of him when he sang at the end of the show, and the lyrics to the song were so heartwarming, the combination of his voice and the lyrics were just - magical. He is such a versatile performer that it really makes him enjoyable to watch. In my opinion anyway. ...

live or not live, this man is one of the best comics of our time. not only does he create an amazing atmosphere for his audience, but he keeps you interested for the whole show. leeevans is a really really funny comidian who delivers amazing one liners and witty referances that every single one of us can relate to.
i think it would be safe to say he is one of my fav comics to date. filled with a never ending suply of jokes and no reason to stop leeevans gives a great show and an excelent piece of comedy for everyone.
i would recomend this to anyone who is into comedy, but the chances are you will already have it... if not, leeevans should be the next one on your list ...
