Lee Evans is probably one of the best British comedians out there. His slapstick style jokes and his comedic delivery shoots him right to the top of the list of must see comics.
----- About Lee -----
Lee Evans was born in Bristol in1964, in Avon mouth. Lee started off as a boxer, but soon realised his passion for comedy and after leaving arts School he spent six years touring clubs across the UK whilst building his reputation as an up an coming comic. In the Late 1980's he became a regular showing at the Edinburgh festival where he earned a much more wide spread acclaim for his iconic performances, which later lead to him winning the prestigious Perrier Award.
It was not until 1994 that he did his first video performance at HM Theatre in London, which was the last performance on his sell out tour.
----- The Comedy -----
It is hard to explain the style in which Lee Evans performs because it is so unique. However I would have to say he rather similar to those famous comedians like Norman Wisdom and Charlie Chaplain in the way in which he performs. The comedy that he portrays is in a much more slapstick sort of way, rather than the traditional stand up. He acts out every joke in a way in which the jokes are brought to life, rather than just relying on delivery of lines from jokes, totally opposite to the likes of Jimmy Carr.
The way in which Lee Evans Acts is in a way in which you would not expect from a comedian. His seems very nervous and very crazy to a certain extent - which is not what the typical stand up does these days. His sweating has to be mentioned because there is just so much of it!! It is quite surprising how much he does actually sweat, although I guess this has just added to his image.
----- The Show -----
Running for just over an hour, this is one of the shortest shows that he has done. Although it is pretty short, it is rammed with constant comedy and is well worth anyone to watch who likes an overall performance rather than just joke after joke. Lee Covers the stages over and over again in this performance and gains the ability to get the entire crowd involved in his comedy.
I was left laughing constantly in this performance that shows the break through of this young and charismatic comedian. The only parts I do not like about his performances are his songs at the end of each show. All right, they do add something to the show but when I want to be entertained it is through comedy rather than this.
----- The DVD -----
Being an older show, there is not anything else apart from the show to entertain you. However nowadays a price of about £10 is well worth an hour of laughter even if you cannot view anything else.
Being rated as a 15, this DVD is definately not for little children who are easily infulenced. However the comedy involved is not overly rude or even offensive. Language at times may be a bit bad but part from this a 15 rating may be slightly harsh. The comedy is much more based on the everyday goings on in which Lee Evans sees jokes every where!
What else is there to say about this? Lee Evans is a very good performer to be honest this DVD does not show you all the qualities of him as a comedian. Although it is very funny, later shows are much better, but I must say this was a great start from a fresh new comedian.
Advantages: One of england's finest comedians... Disadvantages: still has room for improvement
Lee Evans: Live At Her Majesty's Theatre
The Start Of A Journey.
As time passes many things mature, from a fine wine to a good old wedge of cheese and in a slightly weird analogy Lee Evans is somewhat the same. Live at her majesty's marks the end of lee's first ever UK tour.
I would advise if you are not familiar with Lee Evans but want to watch his DVD's then get the full collection and watch as lee grows into the fine comedian he is today.
... ...comedy circuit for several years Lee got his big break when he won the Perrier comedy award for his fine performances at the Edinburgh festival.
The Show
The show last for a little over an hour and features Lee's unique energetic style throughout. His every-day observations will have you laughing out of your seat and if you are a comedy connoisseur you will see how many aspects of this performance have influenced later comedians such as Peter Kay.

Advantages: Funny, cheap, a good way to fill and afternoon Disadvantages: Not the best dvd.
...am bias, i'm a massive Lee Evans fan!! I 've bought tickets to see him in Manchester in November, practially front row and i can't wait.
Anyway back to this video, well even though im bias, i won't lie, this is probably not one of his better videos. He's funny don't get me wrong, but where as he usualy has an uncomfortable humour, where he deosn't seem to know what he's doing, and rolls off joke after joke, on this video he just seems uncomfortable ... ...is one of many funny Lee Evans DVD's i have. Not the best, but it's better than alot of comedians. Also if you visit Amazon you can pick this DVD up for about £6 - £7, cheaper if you buy it second hand. I'd recommend this to anyone who has a sunday afternoon to fill up, or if your off sick and have nothing better to do. I wouldn't spend my Friday or Saturday night in watching it.
I know this aint the ebst review, but there's not an awful lot mroe ...

Advantages: Fantastically funny, provides side splitting entertainment for adults only! Disadvantages: The only disadvantage is that you dont want to nip to the loo or get a drink in case you miss something!!
This DVD is a compilation of the best bits of some of LeeEvans earlier DVD's and Videos. It contains material from performances like 'live at scotland' and 'live at hermajestystheatre'. The out takes are truly hilarious, sometimes its just the simple things in life which we do everyday, but the way Lee puts the gags accross makes it seem an awful lot funnier! This DVD includes the famous rendition of the one and only Bohemian Rhapsody, no LeeEvansDVD is complete without it. The perfect end to a perfect comedy act, I definately will never ever get tired of watching it!
This is perfect for the LeeEvans fan and would make a great stocking filler! ...

of the live show.
Live at Wembley is one of Lee's funniest shows ever.
I wont spoil the shows jokes for any of you but let me just say that when I bought my DVD it spent the next 4 weeks in the DVD player without coming out and was played at least once a day, even now it still gets a regular play.
The running time is around 2 hours and in all that time you will be laughing.
The DVD comes with a behind the scenes and the famous Bohemian Rhapsody performance.
He has been described by the press as "a dazzling comedy genius"

AGE RATING -
These DVD's are rated as a 12. I wouldn't describe them as particulary offensive, he is incredibly apologetic for anything he may say that could be interpreted as offensive. They do, however, contain a few mild sexual references, maybe even a couple of extreme ones.
