Higher Learning Film Review

Advantages: Characters, Issues
Disadvantages: A little over-ambitious in places

John Singleton?s Higher Learning deserves some serious respect for exploring a number of sensitive issues that many University students encounter at some point in their lifetime-- some of which include institutional racism, rape, and the individual desire to be accepted. While some of the characters lack emotional complexity and the story at times may feel a little "preachy", the film is still a very enjoyable and thought-provocative experience -- one that'll linger with you for quite some time afterwards. Primarily, it's a film concerned with identity, with the numerous individual struggles interlinked. Malik Williams (Omar Epps, In Too Deep) is the campus track star convinced that everyone is against him because of his skin colour ("It's no longer about what a person says but what they think," he says. "So in my mind, you've been ...

Learn to play - Bryan adams DVD - ROCKIN!

Advantages: The song choice and the ease of use
Disadvantages: The price

This is quite possibly the best DVD I have ever brought =]. I was doing some early christmas shopping yesterday and decided to take a gander in HMV. Being a Bryan Adams fan myself, Its only natural that I would notice this dvd on the far shelf lol. Upon looking at the price tag it said £23.99 O.O. Yes .. it shocked me too. Personally I paid the full amount because I love bryan adams and his music, although you may feel differently. When I got home, I proceeded to play the DVD when I came across a wide range of features. First, I found that the dvd was about learning to play Bryan adams songs lol hence the title. The DVD teachs you 5 classic rock anthems that include 'Summer of 69' 'Run to you' 'Its only love' 'Cant stop this thing we' and started. Each song is clearly explained note for note with this award winning ...

Just You Wait 'Til Banjo Tooie!

Advantages: Slighty Updated Graphics/ Bigger Levels/ Lots Of Fun
Disadvantages: Slight slow down/ Home to a out-dated console/ Back Tracking

the "stomping plains" of "Terrydactyl Land", a dinosaur thriving area in which a large dinosaur foot frequently slams down it's foot, doing major harm to Banjo. New moves can be learned for the heroes as a unit and separately, which vastly increases the amount of actions available in the game. Special shoes can be acquired for Kazooie also, which range from wadding boots to pass infested swamps and even shoes with suction pads on which allow Kazooie to run up walls vertically! Another exciting feature is the first person perspective sections. If you have played 'Perfect Dark' or 'Goldeneye' you will know what to expect, as the examples given and this game here were all produce by the English gaming company 'Rare'. Banjo can hold Kazooie as if she is a gun (!!!) and shoot eggs from her mouth. As strange as it sounds it is a great aspect to ...
