Russell Watson first came to my attention when I heard him sing at the opening of the Commonwealth Games in Manchester. He sang 'Where my Heart Will Take me' (one of mine and my hubbies all time favourite songs) and I suddenly realised what an amazing voice he had. When I knew he was writing his biography I could not wait to get a copy and read it.
Russell starts the book in October 2007 at the time of his collapsed and when he was told he needed emergency surgery to remove his second brain tumour.
We are then taken back to his childhood where he tells about how he grew up in Sunningdale Drive in Irlam, Manchester. He lived there with his mother and father and his younger sister Hayley. The main character Terri Fletcher ( Hilary Duff ) loves singing. She looks up to her older brother Paul and he is her best friend.Her father is supportive of her singing but believes there are more important things.
When they get caught up in a car accident Paul dies , and Terri is injured.
Terri feels it was her fault that Paul dies and so gives up on her scholarship and music.
But then she realises that's not what paul would have wanted.
So she starts writing songs with a guy called Jay.
It is a sad story but in the end makes Terri even more determined to become a successful musician because she knows that's what her brother would have wanted so she does it for him!

The first song that Kylie was ever allowed to write, and indeed record away from the lead of Pete Waterman, Kylie engaged the help of American producer Michael Jay and Mark Leggett to come up with this slow saxophone-laden ballad.
