Director Douglas Law brings you this new supernatural thriller about a widow who is haunted by the memories of her dead husband.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Plot Overview- Kathy played by the beautiful Andie Macdowell, is trying to overcome the death of her husband Jeremy (played by Tim Roth). Jeremy in his real life, was a doctor, who was very into his profession. After Jeremy's visit to Africa, and his failed attempts to save many children, he returned home and begun to drink heavily, also being violent and abusive too his wife Kathy. He later died in a car crash.
Some time on after his death, phone calls start happening at the same time every night, and memories which are haunting Kathy and her family. Also Kathy is missing the income of what both working parents provided, and too save her home, she rents out the cottage on her property too Mark played by Samuel Le Bihan. She and her children are soon infatuated with Mark, but with all of the strange signs, and spooky behaviour going on around her, she can't move on with her life until she has solved the mystery behind it all.
Kathy feels a lot of mixed emotions about her late husband, love, hate and fear, and tries desperately too forget about it and move on with her life, but with lots of unexplained twists, it seems her husband has something too get off his chest before she does.Margot Kidder (Lois Lane from Superman movies), also co-stars in this movie, and tries too help Kathy come too terms with what's happening around her, and makes her look at life in a different perspective than that of a scientist, which will allow her too follow the signs that she may have missed before, and finally know what her husband is wanting from her.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- My Opinion-
I really liked this movie, although I feel like it has been done countless times before. The acting on all parts was brilliant. Andie Macdowell, can play so many different roles with such depth and realism, she makes such a believable character in this movie. As for Margot Kidder, I can't believe this is the Lois Lane from the Superman movies I watched when I was a child. She has aged a lot, somewhat gracefully. Her role as the old lady that is very in touch with the paranormal world was really good, and a great asset to the movie, I thought she played it very good. The only thing really that disappointed me, was the fact that it was such a huge build up with lots of suspense, drama, horror and mystery which then ended on what I feel could have been a much stronger ending. Don't expect major special effects in this movie, because there aren't any, and I would recommend maybe renting it before buying it. But the storyline was good, and overall, the movie is well worth watching for the suspense and mystery.

Yes, I know what you mean when you say you feel it's all been done before. The storyline does seem rather familiar and snipets of it could have been taken from a couple of other films. Great review though. x
