Advantages: fantastic family film / musical / comedy Disadvantages: none
Labyrinth is one of those films that I remember loving when I was a lot younger, so I was more than pleasantly suprised when I watched it again recently! It is a fantastic family film that tells the story of a young girl who feels resentment to her step mum and hakl baby brother, that is until he is kidnapped by the Goblin king who is played by David Bowie!
Sarah (Jennifer Connolly) only has a set amount of time to enter the Labyrinth to save her ... ...and wonderful obstacles along the way!
These obstacles are overcome mainly by the help she receives from her 'guide' Hoggle. A grumpy yet lovable dwarf!
Bowie is fantastic - the movie itself is kinda like a musical but it is really only Bowie that performs, although in some parts his leggings are a little tight!!!
I have to say my favourite character has got to be Sir Didymus, a fiery little dog (yorkshire terrier I think?) whose courage knows ...

Advantages: david bowie Disadvantages: rubbish effects!
I've seen this film many times and some may say that it is for kids. But, i totally disagree with this.
I must say that it is a pretty old movie and some of its effects are tacky but its worth watching.
If you are obsessed with your modern special effects then leave this one for the rest of us to watch.
It is a bit of a fairytale movie with a pretty predictable ending but it can be great fun to watch :)
David Bowie is also a great actor in the ... ...is about a girl who doesn't really care for her baby brother.
she soon regrets this when he is taken off her and she has to go and search for him in the labyrinth.
back in the day this could be seen as a rather scary movie for young children. but now it is rather funny!
you'll have to watch it yourself to find out what happens at the end.
i wouldn't want to ruin it now would i!

Advantages: A magical and memorable story, great music, unforgettable visuals. Disadvantages: Not for very young children; some frightening images.
...with them, everything seems much more realistic and intimate. Watching this movie, you can't help wondering, even for a ridiculous split second, that the Labyrinth might be real...
~*~ "Just Fear Me, Love Me, Do As I Say..." ~*~
So Jareth implores of Sarah in the movie. But let me advise you (if you have indeed read this far) to NOT fear watching Labyrinth, even though it might seem childish, or outdated, or too schmaltzy because it is a semi-musical. The images and the music and the story will entrance you and stay with you for a long time to come. Do as I say and watch this movie.

DVD Description
Jennifer Connelly plays Sarah, a young woman who wishes her baby brother would be taken away by goblins. She gets her wish and now she must rescue him by going through the forbidding passages of a magical labyrinth to reach the castle of the mighty Goblin-King. A delightful rescue movie penned by Monty Python's Terry Jones and starring a campy David Bowie as the Goblin King, LABYRINTH is directed by the Muppet's own Jim Henson, whose team provide the goblin creatures, so who could fail to be transported to this magical adventure world of goblins.
