I have to admit this is one of my favourite films, not that I admit to it much, you understand, because it does strike you as being more of a children’s film, but I love it all the same. It was the first video I bought that I had already seen, and had already got on taped off TV, in fact the first time I saw it, we had rented the video, so when we got a DVD player and wanting something to watch on it, getting the DVD of this was foremost in my mind.
Released in 1986, it stars David Bowie as the Goblin King and Jennifer Connelly as Sarah and is 98 minutes long. It was written by (which surprised me, when I realised it, when I bough the DVD) Terry Jones (of Monty Python fame), although the story was by Jim Henson and Dennis Lee, Directed by Jim Henson and Produced by Eric Rattray (Executive Producer George Lucas (of Star Wars fame ...
Advantages: Remastered, plenty of extra's Disadvantages: n/a
This latest repackage of the classic Stephen Spielberg film is a must for its fans. The film itself is untouched other than being digitally remastered but the extras are well worth the money for the disc.
A 50 minute documentary "The Making of Jaws" is an interesting insight into the problems during production, i.e., the Technicians strike and the creature not working. There is also talk of a scene that was deemed too violent at the time but which would make it into a certificate 12 film today.
Included also are the obligatory deleted scenes, outtakes, cast & filmaker notes and trailers. There are 720 photos which were taken during filming plus the production notes which are detailed as follows:
1) Story Board and Drawings
2) Production Photo
3) Marketing Material
4) The Jaws phenomenon

Advantages: Wonderful fairy tale like story for the whole family Disadvantages: Very young viewers may find some characters scary
Labyrinth is my all time favourite ever movie, and has been so for the past 15 or so years, never losing any of it?s magical appeal, no matter how many times I watch it.
The Plot:
It follows the adventures of a young girl called Sarah. Spoiled and childless, Sarah's mother has (presumably) died, and her father has remarried and had a new baby. Sarah feels bitter towards her stepmother and stepbrother, and this bitterness leads her into an adventure to save her baby brother being turned into a goblin!
Although she is 16, Sarah still clings to her childhood, still having all her favourite teddies, toys and books. Her favourite of these books is the story of the Labyrinth and the Goblin King, a mystical character who lives in a castle, beyond a Goblin city, in the middle of the Labyrinth.
One night, frustrated by her stepbrothers ...
Sarah wishes her baby brother would be taken away by goblins. She gets her wish and now she must rescue him by going through the forbidding passages of a magical labyrinth to reach the castle of the mighty Goblin-King.

DVD Description
Jennifer Connelly plays Sarah, a young woman who wishes her baby brother would be taken away by goblins. She gets her wish and now she must rescue him by going through the forbidding passages of a magical labyrinth to reach the castle of the mighty Goblin-King. A delightful rescue movie penned by Monty Python's Terry Jones and starring a campy David Bowie as the Goblin King, LABYRINTH is directed by the Muppet's own Jim Henson, whose team provide the goblin creatures, so who could fail to be transported to this magical adventure world of goblins.
