LA Confidential is a drama film directed by Curtis Hanson. The screenplay was written by Curtis Hanson and Brian Helgeland, based on a novel written by James Ellroy. The film was released in 1997.

This film is about three different cops in the Los Angeles police department, during the 1950s. Ed Exley (Guy Pearce), is a by the book cop who won't cross the line, Bud White (Russell Crowe) will do anything to bring justice to criminals and Jack Vincennes (Kevin Spacey) is just looking to make a quick buck at the expense of celebrities. The three cops discover corruption in both their own police force and in Hollywood as everyone wants is out to get ahead at whatever cost.

The supporting cast includes Kim Basinger, James Cromwell and Danny DeVito. They are all great in their roles.

This film won two Oscar's, Best Actress in a Supporting Role for Kim Basinger and Best Adapted Screenplay.

This is a really entertaining film that fully takes advantage of the big name stars, especially Guy Pearce and Russell Crowe. The script is very captivating and will keep you interested for the whole film. I definitely recommend this film to everyone. You will love this film.
