After seeing most of Kylie's concerts, I was obviously very excited about seeing the Showgirl tour. I expected a lot from it and wasn't disappointed, not in the slightest.
I was lucky enough to see the concert live and was excited to hear it was being released on DVD. I purchased it on the day it was released and couldn't wait to relive the fantastic moments from the concert.
I'll start from the beginning.
General look: The look of the DVD is very good. Of the last 10 years it has seemed that anything with Kylie's name on it looks as it a lot of thought has been put into it, and this DVD doesn't wonder from that theory! The menu fits nicely into the theme on the front cover and the track listing on the back. Score - 5/5
The content: As per usual with DVDs, this is top quality. The show manages to capture all the great moments from the live shows and is a great feeling to watch some momentus points from the comfort of your own living room. The extras include a documentry made about the concert and you can always pick from the tracks that this fantastic artist is performing. Score - 5/5
Appeal: This is Kylie! Every gay man wants to be her best friend, every woman wants to be here, every man wants to do her, every kid wants to watch her! Who doesn't want to watch a Kylie concert. Score - 5/5
Overall: Overall, well if you wasn't fortunate to see the concert live then this really is the next best thing! The camera angles capture Kylie at just the right moments, and the songs are fantastic quality to listen to. Whether you're an avid Kylie fan back from 1988 or a 8 year old girl seeing this woman for the first time, you WILL be impressed! Over score - 15/15
...of smash hits behind her, Kylie Minouge certainly has the back catalogue to excite her fans. Add too that fantastic dancers, exceptional costumes and a touch of star quality and you get the best ever performance from Kylie, and possibly the best pop concert ever. The show kicks off with 'better the devil you know', and you can't help bet get excited when the 10,000 + crowd start screaming with excitement has Kylie is raised onto the stage floor. ... ...move in different directions, with Kylie on a higher lever singing the song. She sings the song low (unlike the original version), but then pulls out all stops during the last chorus where she belts the song out. She is one of the rare breeds of pop singers that can sing live - and in tune.
I would recommend this to anyone - even if you only know a couple of songs by Kylie you will still be entertained by this exceptional performance. She called ...

...is a must for any Kylie fan. I was lucky enough to go and see Kylie on this tour. Kylie is certainly an entertainer as this Dvd proves. For those not able to see Kylie at her best , this is a must. She sang a slection of her songs ranging from her eighties songs (I should be so lucky) right up to recent times (i can't get you out of my head).
Several costume changes on the way, all amazing, The Showgirl costume, to Kylie in the shower and her singing ... ...are at the actual show.
Kylie just gets better.
I can't wait until kylie is well enough to tour again.

Advantages: Another fabulous Kylie release. Disadvantages: None!
...absolute must have for any Kylie fan! Showgirl was Kylie's biggest and best tour so far (although from seeing pictures of Showgirl Homecoming I may have to eat those words) and you can really see that on this DVD, from the behind the scenes look at the costumes, the set design (Kylie seeing the stage set for the very first time etc) to the amazing performance. All of her hits are performed, right from I Should Be So Lucky to Giving You Up, she even ... ...them a modern day twist, bringing them right up to date. Then there is the costumes, they truly are breathtaking and you see exactly why the tour was nicknamed her "Feathers and Sequins" tour. I love this DVD and it often goes on in this house when there is nothing else on the TV, even just to have it on as background noise while I am doing other things - it still makes me smile and sing along. ...
