Kung pow is a film that is made using the footage from other films and dubs over them with very silly voices. even though it does have footage of it’s own, the dubbed parts are the best (even though even the films own footage is dubbed aswell). One man stays and fights the baby which is extremely skilled in Kung Fu. The baby escapes and grows up to become a man known only as the chosen one throughout the entire film (Oedekerk), It then shows him fighting many enemies for a while. The film then comes to a small Chinese village where a man named Master Pain comes to look for the chosen one (not realising Oedekerk is him) and beats random people and cuts off their toes. The chosen one realises that Master Pain is the one who killed his family and vows to avenge them. He meets many people in the village such as Master Tang who is incredibly random, Wimp Lo who was trained wrong as a joke and wears squeaky shoes and Ling, who has a habit of making weird noises. He then goes on a search for Master Pain (who now wants to be called Betty) and kill anyone in his way, Meeting a one boobed lady, A fighting Cow and french aliens.
Kung pow is a film that is made using the footage from other films and dubs over them with very silly voices. even though it does have footage of it’s own, the dubbed parts are the best (even though even the films own footage is dubbed aswell). The characters are all funny and memorable, Oedekerk has done a great job of giving every single person in the film a great voice and dialogue. One scene includes a man who looks as though he is speaking calmly but what comes out is an extremely loud scream of words (THATS ALOTTA NUTS!!!) these scenes are incredibly funny and really memorable. The chosen one is a great main character who is funny and kicks ass. One scene has him fight a cow and after a brief moment of getting beat, he beats bit down.
The footage has been put together well and makes a pretty decent plot even if some scenes are randomly added in between. CGI also holds up well, with the effects looking real and believable, only some minor instances such as the cow after being beaten looking fake. Oedekerk has been added digitally to some scenes and his head pasted over the head of the original actor and these are really convincing as-well as making the plot run smooth. The film is incredibly funny and even the small details such as background dialogue has been tweaked to be funny. The humour in some areas, is quite clever and can take a bit of thinking to get, one scene has a scene when two characters don’t move their lips and say they are ventriloquists then throw their voices at walls to trick the enemy.
Overall, Kung Pow is an awesome film, with kick-ass action and fights that are funny and cool, great funny humour and dialogue and a pretty good soundtrack. I would recommend it to absolutely everyone, but parents be warned their is one scene where it deals with sex. Don’t miss this great film.
Advantages: Top class entertainment, something pretty original Disadvantages: Novelty value not to everyones taste, review wont make sense to most people whoa rent filled in on pablos back story, which'll be about ninety percent then
...its a dvd called Kung Pow: Enter the fist
Monkey: Sounds cool, tell me a bit about it
Tiny: well normally its the big one who reviews stuff but i'll give it a try
Monkey: go go buffalo!
Tiny:
Kung Pow is directed and starred by Steve Oedekerk who directed ace ventura 2 and the nutty professor. I say he directed this film but it is in fact an amalgamation of a bizarre 70's martial arts movie and new scenes inserted by Oedekerk
Monkey: sounds ... ...funny, basically he has redubbed it to follow the story of the chosen one (oedekerk) who as a child is orphaned by master pain, ther infant chosen one escapes by fighting off his attackers and rolling down a steep hill (really funny). The chosen one is raised by various rodents before embarkng on a quest to avenge his parents death. and thats basically the story but thats not what matters. What matters is the sheer genius of this movie within a movie. ...

Advantages: Original and oh so funny Disadvantages: You will either love it or hate it
...much like most of the kung fu films that I have seen over the years. With a small exception. He has taken footage from a 1976, Hong Kong, kung fu film called Hu He Shuang Xing (Tiger and Crane fists) and inserted both himself and new scenes into the film. As well as all new dialogue (out of sinc of course) to create a wonderfully hysterical spin on the martial arts flick.
Although the film is only 78 minutes long. Including the end credits. It must ... ...are some outtakes that will had me crying with laughter.
Ok now for the hard part. I will now try to give you a taster of what the film is like without ruining it for you.
The first scene is the chosen one in his families hut. The evil Master Pain (who for some reason likes to be called betty) arrives with his henchmen and kills the family. As he trys to stab the baby, that is the chosen one. The child not only stops the dagger but then pops out ...

Advantages: Funny Film-Good For A Rainy Day Disadvantages: Not to all tastes-some people may be offended
...while back with music from kung pow.......good film.
it was nly 3 pounds so i thought what the hell looks funny enough.
so i got it home and stuck it straight in my video player. At first glances i thought 'meh looks kinda samey and not very funny tbh'
but the the chosen one loses his family to the evil 'betty'
as he rolls down a hill and the lowly woman picks him up,i began to chuckle and then(i wont spoil it) i buurst out into tears of laughter.
... ...to stop it because i was scared id wet myself i was laughing.
The main actor/director look sout of place in this oriental backdrop but with clever dubbing he fits in perfectly
The most memorable part of this classic is when our hero fights the animated cow in the field and finally at the end when the evil council are revealed.
i would recommend this film to anyone who looks comedy and martial arts.
^_^ Regards ...

Advantages: good price to collect now Disadvantages: not funny
bulletproof monk is jam packed with chinese style kung fu, yet a bit dissapointing conversations from Chow Yun Fat
Based on the very underground comic book, Chow is the immortal Tibetan monk that needs to protect the scroll. the first half of the movie was rather thrilling with good computer generated animation etc.
but the second half is rather repeating itself and it is rather boring.
I would buy and keep this for a rainy day and when there's nothing else to do . watch it.
A monk. A punk. A chick. In a kick-ass flick.
this says it all...
Seann William Scott is funny as usual...so if all things failed to amuse you. you would find yourself smilling when movie is over
Kungpowenter the fist......
not a bad movie, however, i would't say it is an interesting one. ...

Story: This has to be one of the strangest films I have ever seen. it is a mic-take of all martial arts ...
Director Steve Oedekerk (ACE VENTURA: WHEN NATURE CALLS) wrote, produced, and stars in this this goofy spoof of martial arts movies, which he created by re-dubbing and digitally inserting himself into a 1976 Kung Fu film called TIGER AND CRANE FIST. Oedekerk plays The Chosen One (so named because of his magic tongue) who grows up in the wild after his family is murdered by the evil Master Pain--who later changes his name to Betty. Hunted and attacked continuously, The Chosen One eventually finds shelter at the Crane School, where he falls in love with a squealing maiden (Jennifer Tung) and figures out how to avenge his parents' death. He also encounters a woman with a very unusual breast, French aliens, an animated spirit father styled after THE LION KING, a martial arts-expert cow, and other digitally animated wonders. Somehow Oedekerk manages to wring a lot more funny moments out of the concept than one might think possible, and thanks to amazingly inventive editing and a gleefully juvenile sense of humor, the film never runs out of steam.
