A man travelling through rural Spain in search of the town where his girlfriend awaits ... more
becomes ensnared in a surreal waking nightmare in director Gonzalo Lopez-Gallego's intricate thriller. Quim (Leonardo Sbaraglia) was on his way to visit his girlfriend when he stopped off at an isolated gas station for some fuel and a quick trip to the restroom. But the men's toilet is out of order, and in his haste Quim ducks into the ladies room. Upon exiting ,Quim crosses paths with a mysterious beauty named Bea (Maria Valverde). The sexual tension is as immediate as it is undeniable, and the two strangers engage in some explosive, anonymous sex right there on the bathroom sink. Recognizing the opportunity in the moment, Bea absconds with Quim's wallet and lucky lighter. Of course, it isn't long before Quim realizes what's happened, and when he subsequently spies Bea's car sitting abandoned on an unmarked road, it seems like the perfect opportunity to retrieve his personal property. Suddenly, out of the quiet country air, a shot rings out and Quim is wounded. As Quim ducks for cover nearby, he sees that Bea is also hiding from the unseen sniper. Eventually the frightened pair manages to escape their assassin's bullets and make their way to the local police. Much to their surprise, the authorities not only voice doubt about the existence of the mysterious sniper, but also cast a troublingly suspicious eye on them. Regardless of their initial scepticism, however, the police are about to discover that anyone who dares venture out on this mountainside is immediately marked for death.

Advantages: Humorous addition to the animated comedy selection. Disadvantages: Animation quality isn't too good.
As a fan of animated comedy, when King of the Hill first hit our screens back in 1997, I was keen to see how it ranked against the other animations (though only The Simpsons really stood out back then). If you haven't seen the show before, it focuses round the everyday happenings of the Hill family (comprising of father Hank, mother Peggy and only son Bobby) in and around the town of Arlen, Texas. The Hill's are your typical hillbilly family, who have hearts in the right places, but don't exactly pride themselves on their appearances and behaviour. Hank is arguably the main character of the show, and he is regularly seen (even in the opening titles) standing in the street with a can of beer, along with his friends Boomhauer, Bill, and Dale.
Hank works as a propane salesman in Arlen, and it would be fair to say, devotes his life to ...
Advantages: You'll Either Love It Disadvantages: Or You'll Hate It
Like many others, I first became a fan of King of the Hill as a result of stumbling home from a bar or club at 1am, cooking up some munchies with my friends and sticking on Channel 4.
For those who have never seen King of the Hill before I'd offer two pieces of advice.
Firstly, don't make this box set your first purchase - start with Series 3, where the characters are still being introduced to a certain degree, and where maturity has improved the quality of humour.
Secondly, King of the Hill isn't for everyone. If you're expecting the multi-layered family comedy of the Simpsons then think on. If you're thinking of the 'random' humour of Family Guy, then think on. If however you enjoy the subtle references and more adult-orientated gags of Homer Simpson, but detest Bart and Lisa, this could be for you.
The series is set in ...
Advantages: Funny, original, some great characters Disadvantages: Can be boring
King of the Hill is an american animated series created by Mike Judge and Greg Daniels. It started production in 1997 and is currently broadcasting it's 13th season.
Mike Judge is probably best known, before this, for the creation of Beavis & Butthead. In fact, there was a character on B&B that looked a little like Hank Hill and sounded exactly like him.
The series revolves around the Hills, a family living in Arlen, Texas. Hank Hill is the father, a beer drinking, pick-up truck driving republican man who loves to keep his lawn trim. His wife, Peggy, is a substitute Spanish teacher who seems to have less of a good grasp of the language. They have a son, Bobby, he's 13 and wants to be a comedian when he's older, so he likes to make people laugh, although Hank would like him to follow in his footsteps and sell Propane.
