Advantages: A well put together, British movie Disadvantages: Maybe tries to be too shocking
...before. When I first discovered Kidulthood it was being advertised as being on the cinema with short flashes of advertisements here and there, obviously because of the budget many small British films see themselves on. For what I can remember as being the first time I have ever seen a film that caters to the origins of urban/chav life in London, it was definitly going to be a talking point in the group of friends I carry myself with. Checking the ... ...a big a role in Kidulthood as some of his projects would make you think, in fact he only serves as a geeky rich boy who is organising the big Friday night party. Whilst on the topic of Skins, when watching Kidulthood again I definitly found comparisons between the two in that Skins tries to be a lot like Kidulthood, perhaps just a toned down version suitable for TV spanned over many episodes. Trife is very much the leader of his small group of friends, ...

Advantages: A shocking, but supurb film with a strong message Disadvantages: Strong language and other bad morals could be found offensive
Before adulthood comes kidulthood. The time when you are not an adult, yet you are far from being an innocent child. This is what this film is all about, a day in the lives of a selection of 'Kidults' from a London school, and how this day changes all of their lives.
I came across this song probably through the soundtrack - I think I had heard of the film before, but it was only when looking for some of my favourite musical artists and finding their ... ...film. I could tell it would be the type of film my parents wouldn't enjoy so instead of getting them to rent it I ordered it off Amazon.
The films starts off in a school playground, at first all seems as it should, a game of football going on, small huddles of teenagers conversing, but this perfect school image shatters almost immediately when we see the reality which lies within, bullying, threats being thrown around, talk of sex, drugs and alcohol. ...

Advantages: Well developed performances Disadvantages: I never saw this sort of life when I lived in similar areas of London, so wonder why its regarded as realistic
Kidulthood was hyped as a true view of the life of a teenager in London in the early 2000's. If this is the case I have to ask why so many people live in London, it's a view of London I'm sure to some extent exists but a true view or realistic which was the other word used? Maybe if you're a scumbag, and your family are total scum then yes true view and realistic might be appropriate wording. But lets not get off on the wrong foot here, Kidulthood ... ...The main story that surrounds Kidulthood is the revenge that Sam plans to exact of the three boys for firstly forcing there way into his home, for having sex with his girlfriend and finally for pushing his mother over. Until Sam has exacted his revenge there will be no rest. Kidulthood is really entertaining viewing from a perspective, but it far from real, or at least the real world I saw of life in London and I certainly never lived anywhere affluent. ...

Advantages: A harrowing depiction of real life in London Disadvantages: n/a
Kidulthood tells the story of a group of teenagers in West London, their lives at school and at home and the trials that they face every day. The film centres on a potentially sad day in the teenagers lives when they are given the day off from school due to a bullied classmate's suicide. I say potentially only due to the fact that some of the kids seem more happy to have the day off than sad for the loss of one of their own. Now, what to do on such ... ...Violence? Kidulthood has it all. Normally i would not be singing the praises of a film that centres on these themes but Kidulthood does not do it to shock or glorify, it is all handled excellently, the result being an incredibly real portrayal of these kids lives. In the first twenty minutes of this film i thought 'oh no i'm in for another 'gangsta' ridden mockumentary full of teenagers spouting swear words just because they can'. Thankfully this ...

Advantages: Great screenplay, superb acting skills, great directing. Disadvantages: A few glitches in the script.
...After seeing the film, I've decided that Noel Clarke is probably my favourite director. He has wrote and directed an absolutely brilliant film which follows on from KiDULTHOOD very well. The acting is amazing and havent seen it this good for a london based film!
I thought that the plot was very good, as it suprises you a lot, especially when sam gets stabbed out of the blue.. it is a truly amazing film.
It is a bit unfortunate that Aml Ameen couldn't be in this film as he dies at the end of the first one in the series.. He played a great part which formed the stroyline of this, the sequel.
If you liked/loved kidulthood, then you've probably already seen this but if not, you should go and see it in the cinema or get it on DVD as you would be mad to miss this!!...

Plot: When a bullied schoolgirl commits suicide, her classmates are given the day off. What transpires in the next 24 hours is a snapshot of the perilous world that today's British teenagers inhabit.
Trife is a 15-year-old West Londoner, torn between doing the right thing and mounting peer pressure to do the opposite. His circle of friends are not the only negative influence in his life: his uncle, too, seems to be leading him astray. When a tragedy involving a young girl’s suicide forces the school to close, Trife and his classmates are faced with extracurricular activities like gang violence, drugs and casual sex. KIDULTHOOD paints a fairly bleak picture of what it must be like growing up on the wrong side of the tracks, but manages to offset the popular image of antisocial youths, with the deeply troubled, emotionally frail human beings they really are. Aml Ameen, who plays Trife, is convincing as a young boy desperately trying to escape his circumstances and not end up a victim. KIDULTHOOD takes its cue from such socially-conscious films as KIDS and packs a powerful, disturbing punch. The soundtrack features contributions from urban acts Dizzee Rascal, Kano, and The Streets.
