JCVD films are one of those things that you either love or hate. This is one of Van Damme's earlier films and arguably one of the most memorable. Beautifully shot, with a decent storyline (he gets revenge for his brother who has been crippled by the local kick boxing champion, of course) - but that's not the reason Van Damme fans watch his movies. It's the fighting and the training scenes, and this film's got them in abundance. Great stuff.
The only reason I'm giving this an average rating is because the DVD is not very good. On my version at least there's only the standard theatrical trailer. No director's commentary, no behind the scenes, or any trivia. A shame, because this film is a classic in the eyes of its fans.
