Act of War, the 3rd Kickboxer film, is a prime example of not knowing when to stop a good thing. The first 2 films were pretty good, and had a good storyline. This lost the way. Now in Rio de Janeiro and robbed by a couple of kids, David and Xion end up befriending the children and uncovering an illegal ring. David, naturally, ends up fighting the star attraction at the end, and beating him of course. and all turns out good.
It's very predictable and not a great storyline. They were clearly starting to run out of ideas by the time they got to this and it completely leaves the original concept behind. Dennis Chan, having been great as Mr Xion in the previous 2 films, is a bit wasted in this and not really relevant to the plot any more. There are some decent fight scenes, but not anywhere near as good as the first 2 films.
Apparently, there were quite a few Kickboxer films after this one, which I didn't bother to watch. So far as I'm concerned they should have stopped at the 2nd.
