This dvd was a long wait, but it arrived, and there was no dissappointment.
This is a 2 disc set.
The footage for the documentary was filmed on Keane's US tour in summer 2005, where they let themeslves be filmed so that this great insight was possible. A lot of the footage is taken of them traveling on their tour bus, where they are not always happy to be filmed!
There were a couple of times where the band had issues with eachother and things became stressful, Tom became slightly ill.
It was a very interesting insight for me as a fan, showing the day-to-day problems that the band had, with each other and personal, and how they were resolved.
It shows Tom, Tim, and Richard's sense of humor which is good, it's nice to know they can still have a laugh with the stress of being in a band, and I found Tom quite funny!
(One point I remember at the moment is when Tom is showing Tim and Richard his tonsils, and and one of them says is it not normal for them to be that huge and Tom says somethin like 'no they're huge' - the way he says it is quite funny!)
The bonus features were great, live videos and clips, and I loved the way you accessed them during the play of the dvd. Also being able to go back and look at the bonus features after you have finished watching the documentary is good, as you may not have watched them all the way through during the play of the documentary.
To access the bonus footage, during the documentary there would be arrows appear on the screen. You had to then press the corrosponding arrow on your dvd player remote (or pc keypad) to view the clips.
One disadvantage is that you can't access the bonus footage before watching the documentary, like other dvds. You can only access them at points during the documentary showing or at the end after it has finished. Other than that, this is a GREAT dvd!!
I would have to say that this dvd is a MUST for any Keane fan! I think it's great!! =D!
Advantages: Gives an insight into the band, great live music. Disadvantages: Difficult to use menu. Tries to be too clever.
Being a big Keane fan I decided to buy this DVD thinking it would tell me more about the band.
This 2 discs set offers an insight into the band via a documentary filmed in black and white of the lads out on tour, capturing the ups and downs of life out on the road living in the back of a bus and the frictions this causes amongst them. Entertaining all the same and they come across as very likeable, down to earth chaps. An obvious highlight here is ... ...acoustic version of 'we might as well be strangers',the video's for 'Bedshaped','Everybody's changing','Somewhere only we know' amongst others. The producers of this dvd have perhaps tried to be a tad too clever in putting this together and for that reason I would only recommend it to hardocore Keane fans. ...
