If Tomorrow Never Comes
Review of Kal Ho Naa Ho (Hindi Language) by anonymili

Advantages: a real feel good film with excellent songs and great acting
Disadvantages: a bit of a tear-jerker and at nearly 3 hours it's quite lengthy to sit through

...A Heartbeat". I watched Kal Ho Na Ho (If Tomorrow Never Comes) for the first time recently and though it was released some time ago I felt I had to review it as I really enjoyed the film (even though it was a real weepie in some parts). Be warned - it's about 3 hours long, so you might want to watch it in 2 separate sittings! ~*~ CAST/CREW ~*~ Starring the charismatic Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, the beautiful Preity Zinta and the gorgeous ...
...Ho Naa Ho was released in November 2003 and is certified 12. The film is directed by Nikhil Advani (his first film) and was written and produced by Karan Johar (who has produced many a hit Bollywood film in recent years). The cinematography is by Anil Mehta. ~*~ PLOT TEASER ~*~ Naina (Preity Zinta) is a 23 year old Indian girl brought up in Manhattan, New York - on first appearances you think she has almost everything a girl could wish for: a stable ... ...is coming home from studying to her semi Punjabi/semi Christian household to face constant arguing between her mother and grandmother (mainly due to the fact that Naina’s father committed suicide). She has a younger brother and sister to look after as well as helping her mother with the economical troubles of the family business. Life looks pretty glum for this girl. Love, dance and sing for tomorrow may never come
Review of Kal Ho Naa Ho (Hindi Language) by mystikchick17

Advantages: Good story, solid performances, excellent soundtrack and well written script
Disadvantages: Long and too many crying scenes towards the end

...take seriously. Happily though, Kal Ho Naa Ho (KHNH) manages to stay faithful to time honored elements of the Bollywood tradition while at the same time achieving funny dialogue, a stellar soundtrack, and overall decent performances. The Bollywood musical has just gotten a makeover, and the results couldn't be more pleasing to the audience. Cast: Preity Zinta - Naina Catherine Kapur Shah Rukh Khan - Aman Mathur Saif Ali Khan - Rohit Patel Jaya ...
...theme song of the movie, Kal Ho Naa Ho that is my absolute favorite. Akhtar has combined a haunting melody with introspective lyrics that captures the melancholy side of the movie perfectly. The songs fit well with the movie, and run the range from all out exuberance to bittersweet sadness. Yes, the movie is excessively long, with many parts in the second half that could easily have been cut. Yes, Karan Johar unnecessarily ruined what would have ... Read review

A view from a Beginner Bollywooder
Review of Kal Ho Naa Ho (Hindi Language) by Chellers

Advantages: Funny, sad, wonderfully filmed, downright beautiful
Disadvantages: Cringed at songs first, but it immediately grew on me

...been in love ever since. Kal ho naa ho was probaby my, what, fourth, fifth indian film that I'd seen ever and, mark my words, it will leave its mark on you. Handed to me by my friend who tried to explain the synopsis briefly but failed miserably, she huffed hotly, "Just watch it." And watch it, I did. ~ The situation ~ This tall tale follows the main character Naina, a pretty day-to-day indian New Yorker struggling with her family problems that ...
...matter with another woman... Kal ho naa ho translates into "If tomorrow never comes" and this film is a beautiful portrayal of this statement. It tackles the issues of family problems, love, confusion, heartbreak and the stresses of the busy life swarming around us. ~ The trial ~ Joking and serious at the same time, I thought this film was beautiful and is one of my favourite films, Bollywood or not. From its direction to personal performances ... Read review

Advantages: Brilliant Romance Story with great acting

...by Javed Akhtar. **PLOT** Kal Ho Naa Ho is an excellent piece of work from Shahrukh Khan, who plays the loveable character Aman. Kal Ho Naa Ho is the story of three people who become friends and whose relationship is based on unconditional love and emotional understanding with one another.
