I bought this dvd for £4-99 yesterday - I have to admit I didn't expect it to be much good - another American girly film, but then again, Toria and I like some girly films on our girly nights in.
BUT - I have to admit I was wrong, this film made me laugh so much I cried.... I mean how many things can go wrong in such a short space of time. The two main characters are Tom (Ashton Kucher) and Sarah (Brittany Murphy).
Tom is a sports fanatic, would be radio star who likes to enjoy himself with his friends.Sarah is the spoilt youngest child of a rich family.
They meet on the beach as Tom is playing a ball game with his mates and Sarah who is walking her dog by the waters edge inadvertently 'catches' the ball round the back of her head - this knocks her over, Tom rushes to assist and away we go - love at first smite!!!!From the cringing moment when Sarah's dog leaps out of the window whilst chasing a ball thrown by Tom, through the amazing attempts to make love in the aircraft loo whilst en route to their European honeymoon destination - to an absolutely hilarious moment involving a cockroach - this film romps from one laugh to another.
The couple are bruised (carrying your new wife over the threshold can be a precarious business) they have nosebleeds, Tom is hit by a low flying ashtray and the honeymoon is an absolute disaster. A situation not helped by the intervention of Sarah's rich parents (and who do you know whose mother has the name 'Pussy' ?) and her old flame who just happens to be staying at their honeymoon hotel.I will stop there I think - though I could just mention the night spent 'in a snowball' but I won't!
Suffice to say they split and Tom is left with a photo album showing pictures of the pair laughing, happy and in love. He goes to his father for advice - amazingly Dad knows that all those good times in the album are what hold the relationship together through the bad times!Fired with renewed enthusiasm Tom leaves to fetch Sarah from the clutches of her over protective family.
Ok - enough said, as I said earlier it didn't cost a lot but anything that makes me laugh like that is worth millions -it carries a 12 rating but this 50 year old enjoyed it immensely - it won't be loaned out thats for sure!!!!!Thanks for reading!

I have this too and think it's really funny. I actually think the line "you don't see the bad days in a photo album, but they're what get you from one happy snap shot to the next" (or whatever it says) is a really great quote! It's so true! x
