Just Like Heaven is an American Romantic Comedy movie released in the United Kingdom on 30th December 2005. This film stars Reese Witherspoon. The running time of this movie is ninety five minutes (five minutes over an hour and a half). This movie is a PG.
Elizabeth works as a hospital ; she’s hardworking and caring and so is up for promotion , however there’s competition between her and another employee. After leaving her twenty six hour long shift at the hospital , she is on the phone to her sister , when suddenly she is killed.
Soon after her death , a guy named David moves into the apartment that she used to rent. The thing is Elizabeth ‘still lives there’ in spirit and so she ‘haunts’ him. Will David realise who this girl really is ? Watch Just Like Heaven to find out!
First of all , the thing that stood out for me in this movie was the strong message of ‘Don’t use a mobile phone while driving’. I cannot praise the movie enough for highlighting this really important issue. We see how the main character is affected in this movie by using a phone whilst driving , and hopefully this is enough to persuade viewers not to ‘drink and phone’.
I had never seen a Reese Witherspoon movie before until this one. I was extremely impressed with her performance. I have never seen such great chemistry between two main characters than I have in this movie. They make the plot so believable! I also couldn’t get over how young Reese looks considering she is in her thirties (in real life)!
Because of the unusual plot ; it was hard to predict what would happen after the two main characters met. This I felt was good , as I hate watching films where I know what is going to happen within the first couple of minutes. So this was a joy to watch and kept me on the edge of my seat throughout the whole movie.
I think that the ‘movie people’ couldn’t have chosen two better actors than they did! They really ‘get in touch’ with the viewer ; what they feel , we as viewers feel too! There are also some giggles along the way , where I laughed out loud at a couple of scenes!
I would definitely recommend this movie! It’s perfect for a girlie night in!
