If you want to show off the wonders of DVD then this is a great set to start with - the two films really utilise the widescreen format and the surround sound to their best, and the print is of such good quality on wonders why we will ever need to go to the pictures again in a few years - just wait till iget my projection telly!
Jurrassic Park is an excellent film, Spielberg's finest horro flick since Jaws - it really does build the tension, and the cutting humour only adds to the moment. A series of brilliantly executed set pieces sit easily within the well scripted story, and the pace never lets up.
The special effects are, as you can imagine, pretty special and on DVD they are better than ever - even the cinema did not show off the dinosaurs to such glory. This is one truly wonderful picture to look at.
The Lost World is an even nicer looking film. Unfortunately, the storyline is a little naff, and Spielberg seems to realise this by putting the dino-stars on teh screen a lot more often!
Still, we don't mind and it stils trickles along nicely as an enjoyable kid-flick.
As a pack, these two sit nicely together. The mooted trailer for Jurrasic Park 3 is no more than a few shots of some bushes rattling, but the bonuses and goodies here are really worthwhile. Some extrra scenes are added, and lots of storyboards. A well rounded pack.
In short, this is another ideal addition to your DVD collection - whilst Jurrasic Park is a classic, The Lost World is a nice addition and makes the set worth purchasing. But again, why the high pric?!
