What Is It?
Juno is the hit Indie film winning an Oscar, a BAFTA, A Golden Globe, a MTV Movie award and many more. One of the first films of this genre, it became a worldwide favourite film. After buying a Blu-Ray reader at the start of the year, it seemed right to spend extra on getting a higher quality Blu-Ray disc. Blu-Ray vs DVD
I bought a Blu-Ray Player after getting a HD TV. There is quite a difference between the two. ... ...Page plays the main character Juno which she fits in fantastically. I had never heard of her before seeing Juno but after this film I can see her doing huge movies in her career. She has become a personnel favourite actress as she plays Juno so brilliantly in the film.
Michael Cera (Superbad) plays Paulie Bleeker, the babies dad in the film. I had seen Superbad and really liked him in it, but again this is were we see his best performance. He plays ...

Advantages: Engaging with some good performances Disadvantages: None
Juno is a very enjoyable film which picked up a few Oscar nominatons and it succeeds becaue of the sterngth of the performances in it with Ellen Page in the lead role of Juno MacGuff
a sxteen year old student who has unprotected sex and gets pregnant after a night of adolescent passion with her friend Paulie played by the excellent Michael Cera. Juno as a character is very appealing and she has a lovely line in sarcasm.
Jennifer Garner plays the ... ...wants to adopt Juno baby when it is born. The other star performance for me was from J.K.Simmons as Mac, Juno father, he was hilarious and is a bright spot in the film.

Advantages: entertaining, funny characters Disadvantages: no real plot
...film were original and amusing.
Juno herself was a bit of an outcast and unique. Her unexpected behaviour was hilarious and left me in stitches. The father of her child, Paulie Bleeker, was another oddball. Together they made an unusual combination which made the film unpredictable.
ENTERTAINMENT VALUE: I thought this film was weird, it was not what I expected, but I enjoyed it all the same and laughed out loud.. A LOT! I really liked it, but so ... ...don't think it will be quite as good the second time.
EXTRA FEATURES: There are not many extra features on the DVD, deleted scenes (of one about one is entertaining) and a clearly set up situation between one of the extras and the director. It also contains a "Cast/Crew Jam" which is less than boring and quite painful to watch. However, I don't really buy a DVD for the extras so I don't really mind about this.
OVERALL: I quite liked this DVD and ...

DVD Description
The word 'quirky' has become the quick and easy way to describe films such as LITTLE MISS SUNSHINE and LARS AND THE REAL GIRL that straddle the lines between indie and studio films and comedy and drama. While JUNO fits into that same category, this distinctive dramedy is in a class all its own. Ellen Page (HARD CANDY) stars as Juno, a witty teenage girl whose boredom doesn't lead her to the mall. Instead, she makes a one-time trip into the arms of her best friend Paulie Bleeker (Michael Cera, SUPERBAD). When Juno discovers that she's pregnant, she's forced to grow up fast as she tries to find adoptive parents for her quickly growing child. JUNO might have a lot of strengths--Page's award-worthy performance, a pitch-perfect soundtrack, excellent direction from Jason Reitman--but it's the screenwriting debut of writer Cody Diablo that makes this such a winning film. Famous for her blog and her book CANDY GIRL - A YEAR IN THE LIFE OF AN UNLIKELY STRIPPER, Diablo has a unique voice and an incredible ear for dialogue that led to her winning a Bafta and an Academy Award for JUNO's script. But even the nearly perfect script wouldn't sound so good if it weren't for the talents of these actors, particularly Page. She won rave reviews for her first major role in HARD CANDY, but this performance proves it wasn't a fluke. The rest of the cast, especially J.K. Simmons as Juno's dad, is just as worthy of attention. JUNO continues Cera's cinematic ascent after his success with the hit comedy SUPERBAD, and his ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT co-star Jason Bateman uses his dry delivery to great effect as a potential parent for Juno's baby.
