Advantages: off beat film with an all star cast

...that he is not the only one who needs this film to be a success. Ram Gopal Verma's last two films did not do well and even Urmila has new young actresses clipping at her heels. Jungle is a film that differs from the usual bollywood formula films. It was not shot in any exotic locations but filmed in actual forests making it more realistic. The actors perform exceptionally well but the villain steels the show with his wonderful believable portrayal of a bandit. Ram Gopal Verma strikes the right balance between form and content. The script is written exceptionally well and the characters are simple and convincing. The raw animal-ness of the Jungle and the terrifying portrayal of the villain "Durga" are captured wonderfully by the camera work. This film is full of twists and turns and chase sequences a plenty but Ram Gopal Verma's control... Read review

...The jungle book is about a boy raised by a family of wolves and grows up to be a handsome young man. If you watch the film you will understand how Mogli the boy is friends with every single animal in the jungle apart from Shair Con the tiger who wants to eat Mogli when he hears about him. But at the end of the film Mogli meets his own kind. He meets a girl who belongs to the man village. The place where Baloo the bear and Bageria the pantha are always going on about. Review of The Jungle Book DVD by KarenUK

Advantages: great songs, good story, cute characters
Disadvantages: looks slightly dated now compared to Disney's Tarzan

...Who can forget the Jungle Book, with its dancing bear, Baloo and the singing monkeys ? A classic Disney film, but probably today's children prefer to watch the most recent Disney offering, Tarzan, with its superior animation and modern soundtrack. The Jungle Book tells the story of Mowgli, a baby boy found by a panther called Bagheera and raised by wolves. He grows up happily in the jungle, surrounded by his friends, but has to be wary of his enemies too - especially Shere Khan the tiger and Kaa the snake. This is an enjoyable film with a good storyline and an excellent soundtrack. It has some memorable moments, but can be scary for young children.... Read review
