upon first release, with a hall-of-fame vocal performance by Phil Harris as Baloo, the genial bear friend of feral child Mowgli. Loosely based on Rudyard Kipling's original, the film goes its own way as Disney animation will, but the strong characters and smart casting (George Sanders as the villainous tiger, Shere Khan) make it one of the studio's stronger feature-length cartoons. Songs include "The Bare Necessities" and "Trust in Me". --Tom Keogh

Advantages: good graphyc, animation, special effects Disadvantages: poor plot
...The most beautiful project not only studios of Walt Disney, but also between all Holliwood cinema. The founders used all known computer technology to animate the heroes.
The film Itself is about small dinosaur-iguanodont, which fell among cut off from tribesmen and was brought up at the clan of lemurs. Then he goes on searches of relatives and finds them on mysterious continent. In common it's something such as the Book of Jungle from the world of animals: not so complex, but sensitive plot, the heap of special effects and beautiful animation. For children of younger preschool age. You can have a rest from them for 84 minutes...

Advantages: entertaining Disadvantages: too short it is so good
...Junglebook in my opinion is one of disneys best Animation films and the fact that it was made so long ago and is still loved by todays children proves the disney magic is still going strong. King louis is really funny, and baloo well he is just great, I confess I still feel a tear welling up when Baloo 'dies' even though I know he really isn't really dead. I defy anone to pan this film. It is value for money and watched over and over in this house. Buy it you'll enjoy it...

Advantages: great songs, good story, cute characters Disadvantages: looks slightly dated now compared to Disney's Tarzan
...Who can forget the JungleBook, with its dancing bear, Baloo and the singing monkeys ? A classic Disney film, but probably today's children prefer to watch the most recent Disney offering, Tarzan, with its superior animation and modern soundtrack.
The JungleBook tells the story of Mowgli, a baby boy found by a panther called Bagheera and raised by wolves. He grows up happily in the jungle, surrounded by his friends, but has to be wary of his enemies too - especially Shere Khan the tiger and Kaa the snake.
This is an enjoyable film with a good storyline and an excellent soundtrack. It has some memorable moments, but can be scary for young children....

The 19th animated feature produced by Disney studios and the last film supervised by Walt Disney himself. This endearing feature is based on Rudyard Kipling's children's story about a boy named Mowgli raised by wolves in the wilderness of India. During his delightful and scary adventures with a series of wild creatures, Mowgli learns he must leave the jungle and be what nature intended him to be -- a man. Delightful jazz-inspired songs make this a Disney classic.

Review: It's a slight tale, of course, and incredibly short, but the characters and songs are pretty much perfect viewing time and again. (Empire, 08/10/2007)

...The junglebook is about a boy raised by a family of wolves and grows up to be a handsome young man. If you watch the film you will understand how Mogli the boy is friends with every single animal in the jungle apart from Shair Con the tiger who wants to eat Mogli when he hears about him. But at the end of the film Mogli meets his own kind. He meets a girl who belongs to the man village. The place where Baloo the bear and Bageria the pantha are always going on about. It really is a great film for all the family....
