Although it is a Bible story, this musical has instant appeal to everyone, as the music is so catchy, and there are a few modern references. The narrator is the most original character, as she tells the story to a group of schoolchildren and makes the whole storyline seem so much more interesting.
The other characters are good, although they can seem a little over-acted at times. The singing is great - they make it look very easy and really add to the production.
This Musical is a little slow to get started, but when it finally gets moving, it's a great starter for those unfamiliar with the Musical genre. The limited 'set' can be a little off-putting.
With the evergreen "Any Dream will Do" and the deeply moving "Close Every Door", this musical cannot help but draw in it's audience, leaving you on the edge of your seat for the conclusion.

I see you've posted this as a DVD review, but you've not mentioned the DVD. Are there any extras? If so, what are they and are they any good? If you add to this, or if you change it to be posted as a "Film Only" review, which can be done by accessing "edit review" in the top right of the review and changing the drop down menu under the "Which format are you reviewing?" question at the bottom, please let me know and I'll re-rate.
